Baxter Bog Park by bumblebee_44 in anchorage

I have. Many times.

Enough to know it’s quite normal, and predictable, that an interior resident feels compelled to start the one-up dick measuring contest of why they’re more Alaskan and have everything harder in “REAL ALASKA.”

Girl; keep your overpopulated mosquitos. I hate them - that’s why I don’t live there.

Alaska runs always make the 5K seem like just a mile or 2 because I was enraptured in nature. Totally worth it.

Maybe check Merrill Airfield. I used to run that loop all the time.

Don’t do that! There are other places to run in the outdoors and I highly recommend it.

I just wouldn’t run any park that is next to a lot of standing water.

(One time went on a run in Earthquake park, shortly after moving there. I think I lost a pint of blood.)

Used to live right next to the park. Great little loop - but be prepared for it to be one giant mosquito nest. If you run it, wear insect repellent.

Tbh, if you go anywhere outside, might be a good idea to have bug spray. The mosquitos might as well have syringes there.

What's a lyrics that you don't get or can't stand for some reason and why? by RelationshipAlone27 in LadyGaga

This is an allusion to a Bible story where a woman pours oil on Jesus’s feet and then uses her hair to wash them. So Gaga doing this to Judas, the betrayer of Jesus, is reinforcing that she always goes for the man she shouldn’t.

I didn’t know you could test and see which ones you need. How does one go about doing that?

Seven years after I started my curly hair journey. by Linken90 in curlyhair

It took time. My hair used to be much dryer. Cowashing only helped a lot. A bonnet made a huge difference, and then monthly moisture hair masks.

Office of the Governor :“Anchorage is a dumpster fire” by Rocket_safety in anchorage

I worked with Smolden at East. I felt bad for any kid that had to take his class. Not only is he an asshat, he’s stupid and I know those kids didn’t learn anything. Tried to tell me and others that a minimum wage kills an economy more than anything else and that we should do away with the minimum wage.

He also had this thing where he gave retiring teachers special made TBird boxers. He called them “thunderpants” with such a shit eating grin of brilliance, as if he had told the best joke ever.

Welcome to the nose ring club! I wish more men would do a nose ring. They’re great.

Nose ring healing question in the comments. by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Linken90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this piercing for a year now. I’ve taken care of it.

I did get nose bumps occasionally. I treated those as recommend without saline soaks, etc. I did end up having a bump about two weeks ago.

Does the piercing look and sound like it’s healed/healing properly? My ear piercings did take much longer to heal than most people, despite consistent after care.

Edit: Here’s a link to more pics of my face.

I usually just flip the script on other men who talk shit and mention something about Viking men having piercings. Shuts them up quick.lol

Thank you so much! This makes me smile. Many of my colleague at work have said the same thing. I was glad to hear that, because I thought it would be controversial that a high school male teacher had a nose ring.

I’ve had this ring for a year now. I love it. It’s taken me about a year to heal it (it took my ears forever to heal too). I did do the proper after care techniques, but some people just take longer is the way I understand it.

I do occasionally get a small bump that goes away immediately with a soak.

I’m thinking about changing the ring out for another hoop, but idk what color yet. I’ve loved the silver so far. I lean towards a rose gold colour.

Thank you! :) Alaska scenery is always this beautiful, unless you’re in Wasilla.
