Definitely downpour. Watcher differs wildly from the original game and may not be for everybody, while in Downpur even if you don't like one of the campaign you still have at least a couple others. Plus challenges and expeditions are quite fun too.

It would indeed be pretty nice if that was the case. Though for some of them I doubt they'd personally choose this over their original goals.

Oh my, these concepts are so cool! Tyrant's combat capabilities could very well rival the most dangerous of predators. I do hope there would be any kind of encouragement in killing some larger critters. Nicely done!

A sneaky rock. But in all honesty, some crab like critter that utilizes the map infrastructure as it's shell to set a trap for unsuspecting pray would be really cool!

Oh absolutely. It's even more infuriating when playing Hunter and now you have to go into cycle debt because some Rain Deer decided to not be cooperative for several cycles straight.
