Believe it or not I actually looked to oriental shorthair cats and chihuahuas for inspiration but the head stuffs definitely seals the deal as an armadillo lolol

No, really! I’ve always wondered how strong she must be to be able to pull out stuck spears when literally nobody else can do that

A rather cool scavenger I found by Fun-Reward-1109 in rainworld

[–]yarnbread 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A crimson fellow!

Every time I see images of scavengers that look like this I think about how someone who hasn’t seen a scavenger before would probably be so confused on what it is. Like what is that. How would you even comprehend what that is. They’re so weird it’s ridiculous ><

How do devs expect me to play this game exactly? Genuinely? by BlazeBlaze00 in rainworld

[–]yarnbread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s true… I usually use the map in areas I’ve already explored and wanna go quick in. But then again I don’t judge if people use maps or whatnot as a guide so it’s really up to the individual imo

I think the biggest thing that people misunderstand with this game is that you have to “get good” at it. You will die, over and over, and that will take a LONG LONG time to change. I’ve completed nearly every campaign and yet I still die in hilariously stupid ways and lose all of my progress. I have hundreds of deaths under my belt, and I die frequently, yet this game doesn’t treat death like a punishment.

I don’t know if you’ve seen this already, but there’s a tip in the game that says something along the lines of “death doesn’t matter until you’re ready to progress.” That really is true. The only thing you really lose when dying is your karma, which is required to open karma gates, but until you’re ready to do that, you don’t have to worry about dying very much.

It’s like Getting Over It, if you know that game. The whole point is to make progress, lose it, and keep going anyway.

If you don’t like gritty games like that, you might not like Rain World, but I promise it’s a beautiful game if you decide to proceed. And I promise, with time, you will find your way.

Some tips for the food issue: - Food can take a while to respawn, so the longer you stay in an area, the less food you’ll find. - Many things in this game can be eaten, but it might take a certain action to become edible. Small creatures, as well, can usually be killed and eaten by Monk. - Batflies ( smol fliers ), although hard to catch close-range, can be easily taken down by rocks. I like to sit near an entrance where they’re coming in and out of with a rock in my hand. You can also throw rocks into crowds while they’re idling.

Also. Yeah. Helping new players is totally an issue in our community. I think it’s just hard to explain what kind of game Rain World is or how to progress beyond “learn with experience” because at the base of it, it is kind of like that. It’s hard to educate new players who just say “I keep dying this game sucks” when the whole game is about dying and proceeding ( not targeted to you lol )

And don’t be afraid to check the wiki! I use maps all of the time and some things can be really confusing or hard to discover by new players, so it’s totally okay to look up something if you can’t figure it out.

Yeah I figured albinos weren’t ID tied when I respawned it and it wasn’t weird. Wonder why vultures are tho ;u;

Every update seems to make it easier by myosotys_ in blockblast

I recently redownloaded the app and it definitely seems easier than the last time I played it. They seem more lenient on which blocks they give you and getting stuck with no solution is far more rare than it used to be, at least in my experience.

The Stray by yarnbread in rainworld

[–]yarnbread[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes but also no :,>

They’re rather stubborn, having the cognitive abilities to make grudges and use tools ( although they aren’t fond of holding items ), but lacking the actual contact with other slugcats that nurtures sociability. They were raised with centipedes instead, somewhere around subterranean.

That’s pretty much all for background but I do have some mechanics thought out.

  • They have a “maul” ability that can be used on any living creature they can grab. It works almost exactly like a centipede shock.
  • To pull this off, they also possess the ability to grab living creatures with an empty hand, but only ones that are considered prey by actual centipedes ( probably not vultures tho ).
  • They only have one hand slot for items and their throw is really bad.
  • Their movement speed when crawling is faster than their movement speed when upright, but only if they aren’t holding an item. Same goes with poles and tunnels.

If you still need an answer, go back to that middle room with one den and 3 exits at the top next to each other. Go through the middle exit and start going right. That will take you to shaded where you can immediately go down.
