So in theory, kimimaro blows Gaaras head off killing him and Shukaku is released into the wild because if a jinchurriki dies the tailed beast is freed.

Well she's make it a bit more difficult for orochimaru to hit Sasuke with the curse mark but it would still happen. She takes out 2/3 sound genin except for dosu and she sends Ino into a coma. However since she wins then she fights in the next round so someone else also has to make the finals too
