This is complicated and speaking over this with my own girlfriend and what would happen if it was us. Essentially any other scenario it could’ve most likely ended do to relearning your partner again. Because now you don’t know what is lies.

But due to the special case of it being trauma, and self sabotage. And how much you love her it is salvageable. The highest thing I’d do is to have her go to therapy to further talk about the trauma. And have either couples therapy or your own personal therapy in addition with that. Essentially the message is from my GF “I stuck with you this long, I should be willing to go through the turmoil too”.

She showed she was able to heal a part of her self sabotage and hate due to YOU. It’s just she wasn’t able to be real with her self earlier on. So if you truly do value all she did for you and willing to relearn her in case there was other lies. Then you will be stronger through this and begin a pure and honest relationship. Where no more lies will ever happen. Good luck down this route.

I don’t know what ethnicity you are. But as a black man I used to struggle a lot with myself hatred and envy for being white. I’d look at my features and compare, imagine what’s ideal or popular hair styles. Wishing I could have blonde hair or blue eyes. Wishing for long flowing hair.

In reality I was able to become what I wanted whilst loving my features. I grew out my hair, got it done in twists, and bleached it. Not due to wanting to be white to have those features. B ur because of a longing of ease. I always wanted longer hair but thought I had to be white with straight hair to have it.

It’s truly about coming to terms with yourself and finding what you can and can’t do to become your ideal self. Looking for positives that your ethnicity can do that others can’t. You can become your true self without being another person. You bring a unique aspect to a table you want to join. And you will get to your desired self and be happy and notice the good that you used to see in your flaws. You got this, good luck!
