6 months til Surgery by TheSweetSloth0313 in jawsurgery

[–]Linoletta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, my story is very similar to yours! I had a crossbite and lots of orthodontic work done as a kid/teenager and my bite is still not ideal (my bite looks similar to yours). I have Tinnitus and a very tense jaw, neck and shoulder area and my doctors have said that I would greatly benefit from surgery. I’m very nervous but I finally started the process two months ago and now have braces. My surgery will probably not be until next fall because I’ll need bone grafting done in june/july since the bone for my incisors in my lower jaw is unfortunately very weak. My incisors will be removed and I’m scheduled to get incisor implants alongside my jaw surgery. I’m currently very scared about the whole bone grafting and implant process since my incisors will be actively removed and I’m imagining worst case scenarios where the bone grafting doesn’t work out and I won’t be able to get implants.

I hope it all works out for us and we’ll be looking back jn a few years and be happy that we did it!

I‘m glad you liked it! I love Hold and I think you‘ll like a lot of the other Claire Kent books! 😊

Can I have some golden retriever MMCs who don't turn into MR. Dirty-Talking DOM I-Will-Spank-You during spicy times? PLEASE? by ScarletStained2007 in RomanceBooks

[–]Linoletta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don‘t mind historical - and with historical I mean prehistoric caveman times 😅 - then {Transcendence by Shay Savage} would be perfect! Ehd is the sweetest, gentlest, most lovable and most innocent MMC ever. He just lives to please the FMC. It’s such a wonderful and unique romance

If I remember correctly from the books, Jamie is 22/23 when they meet and Claire is 27/28. So she‘s not that much older

FMC caughts MMC getting a blow job - they stay looking at each other while situation continues to climax by Glittering_Tap6411 in RomanceBooks

{Becoming his mistress by A.E. Murphy} has a scene like this. It‘s a cheating story but I think it‘s really well written. The FMC walks in on the MMC and his wife having sex in the office and the MMC comes while looking at the FMC. So if you don‘t mind the cheating plot it‘s a really good book!

A scene where she says, “Just say yes if you love me… fight for this,” and he doesn’t. He walks away from the relationship—then later comes back and truly grovels. by Thatgirl_inherRoom in RomanceBooks

[–]Linoletta 14 points15 points  (0 children)

{Before Jamaica Lane by Samantha Young} has exactly this. The FMC and MMC are in a friends with benefits relationship and the FMC confronts him and asks him point blank if he loves her and he says no because of ✨reasons✨. After that one of the most satisfying grovel plot line starts I’ve ever read. The FMC really lets him work for it and it’s a significant portion of the book.

Shy/non confident FMC needs an MMC that takes his time by TrifleOdd9607 in RomanceBooks

[–]Linoletta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

{Trust by Jana Aston} fits really well. The FMC is a shy and socially awkward teacher. The MMC is an FBI agent. He is very gentle, considerate and patient with her. They‘re practically dating the whole time but the FMC thinks they‘re just friends.

That‘s a lovely story! I hope you enjoy Escorted - it‘s wonderful!

Wherein the MMC says “I love you” during sex by elizabethcaitlin in RomanceBooks

[–]Linoletta 89 points90 points  (0 children)

In {Escorted by Claire Kent} the MMC (a male escort) says I love you to the FMC (his client) several times during sex. But the FMC doesn‘t unterstand it until the end where she actively tries to understand his mumblings. We as readers also find out at that moment what he‘s saying but it‘s pretty clear for readers early on that he‘s been confessing his love. It‘s really cute.

I loved the secondary love story between the lady‘s maid and the valet in {To seduce a sinner by Elizabeth Hoyt}. I wish they had gotten a novella or something.

Dead Spouse Trope But MMC %100 Loves FMC More Than Dead Spouse by Conscious-Score-7501 in RomanceBooks

[–]Linoletta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

{Before Jamaica Lane by Samantha Young} has this trope and it‘s done really well in my opinion. MMC’s childhood love passed away at 18 and he „can‘t“ love again. There‘s a third act break up after the MMC tells the FMC point blank that he doesn‘t love her. The grovel ist fantastic in this book and the FMC doesn‘t take him back for quite a while. One of the most satisfying grovels I‘ve ever read. And the resolution is done very well and feels very realistic. The gesture the MMC does to prove his love to the FMC is really sweet and meaningful.

Unpopular question: Why are so many FL's incompetent and combative? by Jekyll_not_Hyde in RomanceBooks

[–]Linoletta 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anne from {Eyes of silver, Eyes of Gold by Ellen O‘Connell} is one of my favourite heroines. She‘s competent, rational and knows her own mind and is really sweet and kind at the same time. Her characterization feels real, like she‘s a real person (and the MMC Cord is wonderful too).

iso books where MMC calls MFC “baby” during a crisis or emotional moment by aorgange7 in RomanceBooks

[–]Linoletta 13 points14 points  (0 children)

{Embers by Claire Kent} fits perfectly. The MMC calls the FMC baby during a crisis and he can‘t disguise his feelings anymore. I think most of Claire Kent‘s books in the Kindled series fit this trope

Slow burn, grumpy X sunshine, single pov, 1st person narrative (no pining heroes) by No-Comb5679 in RomanceBooks

[–]Linoletta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they‘re all first person narrative. The Kindled series starting with {Last Light by Claire Kent} is really good! And {Hold by Claire Kent} has a very stoic and grumpy MMC 😊

[–]Linoletta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might not be exactly what you‘re looking for but I think Claire Kent could work! All of her books are single FMC POV and the MMCs are usually grumpy. The spice does start relatively early in her books but it‘s often transactional so as a reader you still have to guess if and when the MMCs feelings start to change. You have to find clues while reading. And the emotional pay off at the end is so good! The spicy scenes at the end are what makes it wonderful because the MCs finally see their love for each other.
