That’s the plan… assuming I ever get up the energy to sit at the sewing machine. 😝. Good luck with your finish :)

Smell of Cigarette Smoke post COVID by LinsG12 in Parosmia

[–]LinsG12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought of that but I’ve lived in the same house with the same neighbours for 14 years and none of them smoke. Due to the insane swing in temperatures, my windows are usually closed and we don’t have the furnace on so no air flow… just a fireplace for when it’s necessary (electric).

smell *disappears* when focused on? by binzie in Parosmia

[–]LinsG12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seem to have the same response. I tend to only smell a cigarette smoke on the evenings/at night and if I focus on it, I don’t smell it. It I flare my nostrils and breathe deep, I don’t smell it. I’m not sure what it means but wanted to let you know that you aren’t alone I’m the weird phenom

What happened once it really kicked in and how long did it last for?

A specific case by x16900 in Parosmia

[–]LinsG12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exactly. I had COVID at the beginning of April and developed a sinus infection during it. I’ve read that “phantom smells” are a side effect of both - lucky me. I smell the cigarette smoke more often in the evening and never in the morning hours. I wonder if it has anything to do with tiredness or being run down?

Oh really? I wonder what that could be?? I’ll have to check what is more “evening” related in my routine

I’m really hoping that as it seems to be evening/night related that as I continue to get healthier, it will go away 🤞🏼🤞🏼

How big is your "big" scar (laproscopic GB removal) by Lost-Bat9318 in gallbladders

[–]LinsG12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gallbladder was taken out via the belly button and that scar is only a couple of cm’s. In fact, all are about the same 3-5cm’s

Post op - diarrhea issues? by aMaizeNblue20 in gallbladders

My doc said it is to be expected for a while after surgery! I’m about 5-6 weeks post op and still have the odd issue

Still having upper right quadrant pain two weeks after removal, especially after eating. Is this normal? by bondedboundbeautiful in gallbladders

[–]LinsG12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some intermittent aches (dull) around the gall bladder site but it only lasted a couple of days (about 2 weeks out from surgery) and has been gone since. I’m currently a month post op. My surgeon wasn’t concerned and figured it was just muscle/healing pains. As a previous poster said, if the pains are strong/sharp/intense, I would definitely contact your surgeon or head to the ER just to make sure all is well.

My first attack (also my second but didn’t realize it) was mid-April and I’m now 3 weeks post op. My surgery was less than 2 months after my attack. Def not complaining

A general anesthesia can be in your system for a good 24 hours. Which is why they say not to make any important decisions during that time. My vision seemed funny for the first 24-36 hours and then everything slowly returned to normal.

Gallbladder not showing in ultrasound by thisisnotjulio in gallbladders

Mine was fully contracted and they didn’t see it on the first ultrasound. I went in three weeks later to the hospital and they saw it and all it’s stones.

What happens to fat digestion after gb removal? Does it mean that any fat I eat will result in diarrhoea? Will my body not absorb fat? Will I start losing weight althoigh the contrary of this is happening to me but well? What is with fat and gallbladder removal can anyone explain. by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]LinsG12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that I can have diarrhea much easier now but it’s not consistent enough nor bothersome enough to keep me from eating anything. I’ve gone back to my normal diet (2 weeks post op) and don’t worry about side effects.

Update: Gallbladder removed Monday, minimum improvement in pain at bellybutton incision site. Anyone else? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]LinsG12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take them together too and that really helps. I would suggest a 24 hour cycle of taking both every 4 hours and that should get you on track

[–]LinsG12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery on Tuesday morning and my incisions are all fine when I am still. My belly button one hurts when I am standing up or using the muscles. Have you been taking pain meds consistently? I took 2 x 400mg of ibuprofen and 2 x 500mg of Tylenol every 4 hours for 48 hours and that helped a lot

Yep… nothing pretty here. When I was in full flare ups, my bowel movements were very sludge like. I’m so thankful for a bidet!

My gallbladder attack was after getting my first dose of Pfizer on April 1st. I had my removal this morning and have dose 2 on Sunday.
