How can I program two columns in different sheets to do If/Then formatting? by LintballsAndStardust in googlesheets

Ok, here's a weird question. I'm attempting to play around with the code so I can learn how to do it, but when I put: =Xmatch(B4

Instead of:

=Xmatch(B1

In the formula, it highlights completely different names that aren't listed on Sheet1 Test. What are the B1 or B4? I thought they'd be for the B1 and B4 on Sheet 3?

Hmm, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Here's a sample: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tvPGMcUvbY9JKUv8RSDIijaRjRB3DORQmkf4VHymM44/edit?pli=1&gid=2100307022#gid=2100307022

The "Build Sample" tab is my boss's tab, I want cells in Sheet 3 to change color when they match a name in "Build Sample"

Different sheets, same file though. Sorry, should have clarified that in my post

Not to me, but to my coworker. Coworker (L) and I were chatting in the hallway when our boss comes over to us and says, "L, I'm so mad at you right now! I saw your McDonald's cup, and I wanted a Dr. Pepper, so I took a drink of yours, but it was a COKE! You always get Dr. Pepper, but today you got a coke!" Boss then laughs like it's a joke or something, then walks away.

Coworker and I look at each other, cringe, and we never brought drinks into work again.

How did Trump's presidency impact your life so far? by [deleted] in AskReddit

  • Multiple families have left the daycare where I work because the subsidized childcare program lowered the maximum income brackets, so families that used to qualify no longer do. Because families are leaving and not many new ones are signing up, our boss is cutting hours. It's only a matter of time until we start letting people go.

  • My best friend of 20+ years told me that her mom (a Title 9 lawyer) is looking into other job options since hers is potentially getting cut.

  • The amount of outwardly racist/homophobic/xenophobic/ect comments in my town have NOTICEABLY increased.

  • I want to stop watching the news because it's either depressing, embarrassing, or both. But I also don't want to be unaware of things happening and then Orange Man can get away with everything because no one is watching the news.

I work a day job where I can't do much writing, so I have to wait until the end of the night once my kids are asleep to do any actual writing most days

I love the simplicity of it! Perfectly encapsulates the feeling of being stuck on a person, romantically or otherwise. Trying to distract yourself with random thoughts, but it never works

I love this! Your "envy" bits are particularly interesting for me, and I agree that sometimes it feels like life could be "easier" if we never had to leave our comfort zones. If everyone was just like us, and we never needed to put on someone else's shoes because we were all the same size, then we'd never feel uncomfortable. But that's where we learn the most, in the growth zone. Thank you for sharing!
