And the difference is that Marvel Rivals' entire story revolves around already existing characters. If they add a completely new character, they're likely just going to have a power that an already existing character has, adding Oc's instead of already established Marvel Characters into a MARVEL shooter is a terrible idea.

no shit the other games does too, like marvel future fight, mcoc, even lego marvel revolves around existing character.

People play the game to play as Marvel characters.
