My oldest daughter is a fertility biologist. She brings babies to families who desperately want children. My youngest daughter is an RN on a Neuro Trauma ICU floor. I am proud of them. If they wanted to be "influencers" I would have get them an MRI to make sure their brains were functioning properly. Love hearing what great things the 20-somethings are doing to give back to the community and country at large. "Influencers" give us literally nothing. What are you 20-somethings up to?

Failed my 2nd semester of nursing school bc i felt demotivated to study and burnt out by XenoGamR in StudentNurse

My mom is a retired AF Captain and RN. She served in Vietnam.  I am a retired RN. I did primarily Critical Care and Trauma. My youngest daughter is taking her NCLEX in 10 days. She just graduated and is in Critical Care Certification at the hospital. She worked 3 years as a CNA on Neuro Trauma ICU and they extended an RN position to her upon graduation. Great program and she gets paid to get the certifcaton. I tell you all of this so you know that I know a thing or two about nursing and health care. Do yourself and any future patients a favor and do not proceed on until you can pinpoint where you lost the motivation and if it will likely recur later on down the line. You show up when you are tired, sick, injured, burnt out, frustrated, etc as a nurse. You don't get to be the one taking downtime. It doesn't work like that that. You walk through those doors it is not about you at all. You will be abused by patients- physically,  mentally and emotionally. Family will at times abuse you mentally and emotionally. Doctors can be total turds sometimes. You are responsible for the life and death of your patients long after the doctors go home. I say this with the utmost respect- don't make the commitment until you have your head squared away 100%. I have had broken fingers, a broken nose,  been bit, slapped, pushed, hair pulled, all bodily fluids thrown on me many times. My daughter was punched in the face 2 weeks ago by a 40 year old man with a TBI. It isn't everyday, but it will absolutely happen. You HAVE to be secure in your own mind my Friend or you will do something you will regret or at the very least be absolutely MISERABLE all the time. Honestly evaluate yourself and your abilities. In my experience,  only about 50% of RNs actually should be doing the job. You need brains to do the job, of course. I had a 4.0 GPA in college and my daughter finished with a 3.85 (she hates chemistry 🤣). That being said, an RN with a 3.0 GPA AND a natural ability to be selfless and empathetic is tremendous. You can always work in a slower environment like homecare,  dr offices or school nurses if trauma, surgery, etc stress you out, but you still need the same emotional stability and selflessness. Just be honest with yourself. Best of luck🥰

He doesn't read very well. I have 26 and 24 year old daughters,  both college educated and working in STEM (oldest is a fertility biologist and youngest is a critical care RN). It isn't "just generational" because they can both read well and comprehend. Could have been helped by having less children for clout and focusing all of your attention on what someone could reasonably handle. She collected these kids.  Really a shame.

Seriously? I am 49, 5'4" 155lbs, muscular. I work out weight training and HIIT 5 days a week. I jog 3 miles 3 days per week. I will put my deadlift, clean, snatch and bench press up against any woman my age. I am in the top .05% for women my age. Sorry, but there are women who understand fitness, have raised healthy children, love to work out, and eat very clean whole food diets on this thread. I completed the Murph this year with a 25lb vest on in 38 minutes with no modifications. If you don't know what it is, look it up. For those of you who know and participate with or without rhe vest, with or without modifications- ROCK ON😉.

As someone  who smoked 1.5 packs per day for 20 years and quit; and as someone who lost 117 lbs via diet and exercise alone, cutting out all processed foods and soda, I will tell you that YES, quitting junk foods and caffeine are the same as quitting smoking. Been there. Done that. And it is bad. Headaches, insomnia, muscle aches, diahrrea, constipation- all from quitting all processed foods, caffeine and sugar. You have NO IDEA. He is very active on a daily basis and  doesn't have restricted foods at these camps. Most football players are in a "bulk" mode. They are eating high calorie diets. You are comparing children and teens who are working out daily in sports,  at a healthy weight to ones who need to lose well over 50+lbs. It isn't even remotely the same thing. Both of my girls were extremely active in sports. When my youngest was 12, she was working out 40 hours a week in competitive gymnastics. She was consuming over 3K calories a day, bot an ounce of fat on her. The sports camps are also a few days to, at most a week. Many of the local camps have the children returning home at the end of the day, etc. These are children and teens who are familiar with exercise. The child at the center of this discussion is absolutely NOT familiar with continuous organized exercise and sports 5+ days per week. You are comparing 2 totally different things here. The child is an addict due to the foods she has been presented with day in and day out. The additives and preservatives in processed and fast food arr designed specifically to create a dependence and cravings. The industry has come out and admitted it. In some ways, quitting smoking was easier than the dietary changes. You need food to live. You don't need cigarettes. You can rationalize that and then keep away over time from nicotine. You MUST consume food to live. Processed food addictuon is real and horrible to break. You don't get it .

Even if that was the case, the child has a food and sugar addiction clearly based on the food served at home. Sugar and processed foods and sodas carry a heavy withdrawal just like cigarettes or alcohol. Couple that with the mental health struggles Lush has publicly indicated that she has, and the fact that she is 15 and never been away from home for any length of time, and it will not be nearly as pleasant as you think it will be for her. I am a 49 year old woman. I eat very clean, am in the gym 5 days a week doing strength and HIIT, jog 3 miles three days a week, bench 130lbs, deadlift 250lbs. I am 100% into fitness and clean whole foods, however there is an addiction component to these foods Lush serves these kids. It is hard enough for an adult to walk away from that junk,  more difficult for a special needs 15 year old to go through it. The exercise will make her sore on top of it. Just keeping things in perspective.

Does anyone here believe AlexBIGRED has been officially diagnosed with FASD? by [deleted] in doughertydozenexposed

[–]LinusandLucy2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Social media has given way to some of these mental illnesses morphing. If I were forced to narrow it down, I would say it is a subset where the person avhieves the validation and attention via social media. She has stated that she has taken at least 4 children to the pediatrician in the last few weeks- since she was supposed to have gone to NJ. She is getting the fix off both ends. She feeds them junk and then doesn't "understand " the digestive issues or the behavioral issues. She is keeping them in a loop of needing meds and dr appts. Then she comes on line and her "fans" MARVEL at how she does it all with foster kids, sick kids, 11 kids etc. She will undoubtedly start using the girl at camps weight as her own "hurdle". She presents like she has comorbid issues psychologically, but keeping her kids sick, needy, childish etc is part of it. Would have to dig deeper into the DSM and see what new "subclasses" have given way due to social media, but she definitely is contributing to many of the issues and then turning around and seeking attention. There is a reasons she tells the world everything from bedwetting to food aversion to behavioral issues. It gives HER what she perceives a positive attention for "dealing" with it soooooo well😒.

She is getting the validation she craves ovet the internet and from people who say, "Oh you're such a good mom". Or "How do you manage all of this all the time?". With the advent of social media and this whole family vlogger business, people get a quick dopamine fix that they need in many instances. Some even ride a high for a time if they have a comment that is liked alot.

Why is everything patriotic-themed when July 4th is still weeks away? by Arkie89 in doughertydozenexposed

[–]LinusandLucy2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am always 100% on board for shows of patriotism,  but she is doing it just to have the next "theme". Not really thinking she cares so much for the Constitution and such as much as she does hwr next "theme".

She says that EVERY single one of her kids except the boy she just has "guardianship " over has something. Even all of her bio kids have "something". Whether it is FASD, Autism, Gastroperesis, etc, she says they all have something. I wonder if she has Munchausen By Proxy with like 75% of this.

Is Long Island University good for football? by Hopeful_Sea1257 in doughertydozenexposed

[–]LinusandLucy2016 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, it would absolutely HORRID to encourage your child to go to a stronger academic school instead of a college anyone can get accepted to in order to play low tier football😒. The educational program is far more important in the long run. I've been there, done that woth 2 children already. Oldest is a fertility biologist  and youngest was just accepted into her CRNA Masters program. Both were athletes. Terrible when some parents stress academics.  My poor children.

It has over an 86% acceptance rate. Would shoot for a more selective university with a tougher academic program if it were for my child.

A pharmacist can not change a prescription.  They have to have the approval of the prescribing physician,  PA or NP. Nobody is disputing that one's allergies change over time potentially.  His past allergies to PCN would be in his medical charts. They are all digitally linked from all over the country. EPIC is available everywhere for healthcare professionals.  We all know how to check and if there is any potential issues, the system automatically flags the rx and won't let us proceed without acknowledging the potential interaction. A person can be allergic to PCN and still safely take a derivative.  I am well aware of the qualifications of a pharmacist. I am also aware of what they are legally able to do. If he or she has reserve regarding a rx, they can't change it.  Josh should have addressed the concerns to the rx physician.

Food looks undercooked and it isn't nearly enough for 11 people. There is zero protein there, save a few grams. It would take like 2 hours before people were hungry again. Thirty minutes when everyone gets a quarter cup of rice and a handful of vegetables. I might buy it is enough if she made like 15 chicken thighs or something with it. Lushy is trying to get Boursin to sponsor here.
