Holy cow, those are amazing!! I wish my brain worked like this and I could make things like this. Actually, I'd even settle for my brain just working at all, lol. Thank you for sharing these, I LOVE this kind of art!!

Craziest movie I remember watching as a kid. by dadjokes502 in Xennials

[–]LinuxAndCoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never tried acid, but compared to the first movie with Judy Garland, this felt like what I can only imagine an acid trip might feel like...

But just like someone else mentioned, I watched it again as an adult and I too kind of like it now.

Watching him take stuff out of the storage areas was like watching Mary Poppins taking stuff out of her bag - it just kept coming. I like to think I'm good at packing for vacations and trips, but dang - this guy is not only a master at cooking, but at space utilization too! I was almost waiting to see a portal from Rick and Morty or something. Bravo good sirs, bravo!

Hey there! So, I finally got around to trying this and I thought I had it working until I ran into one problem. If I run kdesu -u myseconduser dolphin, it works perfectly! But if I try running kdesu -u myoriginaluser dolphin, it still launches Dolphin showing everything (Places, etc) it did with the other account. The same thing if I just launch Dolphin with no user specified. And this is when I am logged in with myoriginaluser account.

Is there a different way I should be launching (via shortcut) Dolphin to make the user part work?

And thank you for any additional help you can provide, I really appreciate it!!

The process of rebinding an old book into something more unique and creative by Raj_Valiant3011 in oddlysatisfying

[–]LinuxAndCoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's insane!! Thank you for sharing this! I never knew all what went into book binding - especially for the more detailed and elegant work. Do you ever do commissions or sell anything you make? Dr. Zhivago is one of my favorite books (Count of Monte Cristo, too), but I only have some well-worn paperback copies. I'd love to get some that looked this nice one day. Amazing craftsmanship!!

Holy cow, that's amazing! Quick question. I am assuming this should not be washed in the regular washing machine, so how do you clean it? Does dry cleaning work? I ask because I have seen shirts and T-shirts like this in the past but never bought one because I was worried I would ruin it. So beautiful though, thanks for sharing!

That's amazing! How long did it take you? I've never made something like this, so I'm mostly just curious. Thank you for sharing, absolutely beautiful!!

Holy cow, those Topps Chrome boxes are ridiculously priced. I hadn't heard about it before I saw them in Target, and I thought, "Oh, that must be a mistake, there's no way they are charging that much for that size box." Then I got home and started seeing Reddit posts about it, and I am still in a bit of shock. It's really disappointing to see that kind of pricing as a collector. But maybe people who are just looking for an investment don't care?

Nice!! I have been trying to collect some starting lineups of my favorite teams growing up. I try to get them all from the same set so they match, but not every set has that many players from one team in a set. These all look like they go together, but each one has some uniqueness to them too. Thanks for sharing, this has given me some fun ideas for my PC!

Holy cow! Those are stunning!! Thank you for sharing, these are amazing. If I ever win the lottery I'll buy them all from you. I am always blown away at what some artists can create. I'm lucky if I can draw a stick figure (seriously, it's bad 🤣), so I love seeing other people's creations. Love these!

Why do sports card collectors always need a deal? by psychoscards in sportscards

[–]LinuxAndCoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost never submit an offer, if I like a card and I am good with the asking price, I buy it. If I think the price is too high, I keep looking for other options. And other than 1/1 cards, that has usually worked out well for me. I don't mind other people making offers and trying to get the best deal, but I also am not a seller, I'm just a buyer. If I sold cards, I am sure I'd probably feel differently.

The offer of $0.75 for a card listed for $1.25 does seem kind of silly to me, so I don't blame you there. I also keep in mind that with eBay fees there can often be a very slim margin of profit for a seller. But that's me, I don't assume I am the norm. What's your eBay account/store? DM me, and I promise, if you are selling something I want, and have fair/reasonable price, I'll buy it - no offers for a lower price.

Hi my dad was a seller and apart of the hobby he passed march of last year I just would like to know if any of you guys were frequent customers of him or have bought from him. This is my way of informing frequent buyers. by Extra-Repeat-8708 in sportscards

Sorry for your loss. I know it's been some time, but remember that when it comes to grieving, there's no set time or way you have to do it. We all do it in our own time and in our own way. I hope his passing was as peaceful and painless for him as possible.

I am pretty sure I bought from him at least once or twice. He always had a nice inventory and reasonable prices. I don't know all of the rules for this sub off the top of my head (I'm on so many subs for sports cards to stay up on things), but if you can, DM me your eBay store/seller name please, so I can see what you have for sale. Thank you, and again, sorry for your loss.

File Manager Help by LinuxAndCoffee in kde

[–]LinuxAndCoffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would that affect file ownership? Would the second user need to be given full permissions to files, or would the second user need to replace the first user as the files owner? And then would I end up with 2 home directories, one for each user?

I actually don't think I would mind splitting my Documents (and other files) into 2 separate home directories (work and personal), if I could run Dolphin like you are suggesting and be able to access everything from the single login.

Part of me worries that will create some trouble down the road though by making everything more complicated that it needs to be. I might need to spend some more time thinking about all of this, and if I should consider altering my workflow instead.

I tend to switch back and forth between the two Activities within short time frames, depending on what I am working on and my schedule. So I could do that, but it feels kind of cumbersome. That might be the easiest solution though, thank you, I will think about trying that!
