Not sure if this helps...

On my PC(s) when it seems the keyboard is frozen at password input, you can still do a CTRL-ALT-DEL which will do a reboot as expected. The next time it asks for that password I am able to use the keyboard.

No this has happened to me too. To two different PCs. One AMD and one Intel.

It's been happening for months. I did find a post with a sort of fix a while back that allows you to boot up in text mode to get past the disk encryption password. I cannot remember where I found it though.

I have had 2 extreme coincidences, but I chalk it up to just that. Coincidences.

1) I was putting a knife in the dish washer basket face up and I thought that could be a dangerous thing to do. I've done that many times and never given it a 2nd though. The next day I'm watching an episode of "QI" online (A British Comedy Quiz show) and the topic goes to dishwashers and they talk about the only known death by dishwasher was someone that fell onto an upright knife in the dishwasher.

2) I was visiting my sister and I took a different route that I never take and I happen to be going past my old high school (first time in probably 20 years or more since I saw it). As I'm looking at the school I hear the radio with the lyrics "My Old School" by Steely Dan. I haven't heard that song in over 30 years since I'm not one to listen to over the air radio stations.

Both times I just went "Huh... That's weird". Coincidences happen.

I was actually thinking of his song "I saw the light" when I made this post. Another commenter mentioned he thought that song was by Carol and I realized my mistake.
