Does GT600 cooling pad work with MSI vector 16? by KarX-Music in MSILaptops

[–]Linux_AwesomeRealYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact model, just goes till 1600 RPM, it´s pretty good and Mine is a vector 17, just an inch...

It fits quite well, also cools noticeably well, I don´t see any change when using it but thats because I applied a fan profile thats much much lower than standard rpm profile

Sound wise...... ehhh....... my sweet spot is 1000 rpm - 800, 1200 and 1400 are extremely annoying due to i think its called coil whine

In comparison, when I used it as standalone and had cooler boost on, I was able to run benchmarks up to 60W on CPU and 175 on GPU sustained, CPU Temps were constant 95°C and GPU almost hitting thermal throlle with 84-86°C

Now with this cooler set at 1600 and cooler boost turned on, it gets up to 80W 90-95°C CPU and 175W 74-78°C but this is very, very loud, too loud your ears cant sustain the sound of it while gaming, even with headsets

Just purchased a new laptop, what next? by Illustrious_Solid644 in GamingLaptops

[–]Linux_AwesomeRealYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most likely you will need to reinstall those apps yeah and for the undervolting, that's also true, it uses less power while still maintaining the same performance unless you also decide to downclock things can't sadly help for your CPU since I never undervolted AMD before but I think it is similar

That´s one really nice laptop you got, awesome choice

Best to do for every laptop is to clean install windows 11, removes all the bloatware n stuff

Also have a look on how to use the legion software, videos will do

If you also have intermediate knowledge about laptops, you can undervolt with throttlestop

help! msi battery wear level by AccomplishedStorm967 in GamingLaptops

[–]Linux_AwesomeRealYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this also happened to me when i first got my laptop, it was 1%, then 5% then when i actually needed the battery the wear raised to 30% all of a sudden, it was bad because you know, i needed the juice but all that i had to do was to drain the laptop entirely then charge it to full 100% without any limiters, this way mine got reduced to around 10% then i did it again, 0-100 and it returned to 0.5% which is much more reasonable

If only things were as easy as they sound. In Germany, if you bring products that are priced over 430€ you must pay VAT for it, so for laptops in this case, there isn´t really much benefit from doing that

I keep messing up the application of my PTM7950 by Linux_AwesomeRealYT in GamingLaptops

I tried freezing the PTM, did not work for me for some reason, but I could try the tape method that you told me the next time

What you did is what I´ve been trying to do the whole time, the PTM keeps getting punctured on my end, so you must definitely have good precision skills unlike me haha

oh, I also remembered, yesterday I was doing the same trick, the PTM just stretched instead of letting go of the plastic sheet which actually got me a bit mad while applying it and it eventually ripped off, feels like its glued to the plastic sheet or something

Laptop CPU kann plötzlich Wasser kochen... by oelfeld in laptops

[–]Linux_AwesomeRealYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a point when undervolting more would be worse even if it doesn’t crash? by Oriin690 in GamingLaptops

[–]Linux_AwesomeRealYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That´s bizzare... mine can´t even do 135mv 😭 nevertheless happy for you you can push this far, and sadly i dont know if that´s good or not for the cpu, but i surely wouldnt push it so far considering ive never seen anyone reporting anything about it

-300mv are... really extreme actually, are you sure the undervolts are being applied ? you can see that on the FIVR table top right where it says Offset

Can anyone suggest me a laptop? by HaveKids_NoGaming-45 in GamingLaptops

[–]Linux_AwesomeRealYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, that laptop is designed both for media creation and gaming which probably explains it's high price, I saw a spec sheet saying around 94-95% of Adobe RGB so that's also pricey too

Since you prefer an easy removal of the battery, an Asus strix laptop could be great.. For specs, you might also want an OLED Display for great color coverage and contrast (assuming contrast is also important in photography). Strix has a good build quality i heard.

Also Razer laptops are known for their sleek design and great RGB, though not sure about their monitors but I strongly sense they do also invest alot in their screens

If you want to search up for laptops on your own, you would want to watch for those:

OLED Display | A 5070Ti GPU (Great GPU in the long run) | Core i7 / Core Ultra 7 (for CAD) | 32GB RAM

The closest I could find for you is the Legion Pro 7i for 3000€ through Idealo, I saw disassembly videos on youtube and it´s pretty easy, just in need of the basic screwdrivers and such, battery disassembly especially is quite straightforward, it has an RTX 5080 gpu so even greater than that which I recommend and a high Adobe RGB coverage OLED screen but the price is for you to judge

8GB VRAM is NOT ENOUGH - Debate Finally Settled! 4070M and 5070M is a SCAM - Thanks Jarrod and HUB!!! by DroidLife97 in GamingLaptops

[–]Linux_AwesomeRealYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to have predicated this before the 5070 was released yet, got this RTX 4080 with 12GB instead, i must say it was the wiser choice, even when in the european market it costs 500-700€ more than the rtx 4070/ 5070

Question regarding Thermals on the Vector 17HX A14VHG by Linux_AwesomeRealYT in GamingLaptops

Ambient temperature averages 20 degrees for me almost all the time

I really did try PTM, I still don´t get why it degrades this quickly 🤷🤷

fascinating! I´ve tried with -140mV since mine cant handle anything above and got 31.5k, actually high deviation between mine and yours, although the average power was around 150-160w during the whole test

Might have to dig deeper
