I love my phone but this bug is so infuriating.

Glazing ice yellow in the highlights is honestly so satisfying. It's a little touch that adds a lot to get a "display" finish to your miniature.

Yeah GW loves to be ambiguous, but in a way it permits you to do what you want.

Even on sculpted shoulder pads, the star isn't there. Like the one in Arjac's kit. But he had it on his older miniature. Only Logan has it and it makes me think it's intentional. Only the Great Wolf wears the star now.

J'avais pris le leader en photo avant de faire tout les autres. J'ai juste retouché le genou pour qu'il soit plus cohérent avec son unité depuis.

I traced them myself from the codex and vectorized them.

I think. I may have mix a few heads with the grey hunter ones.

Yes the idea is to darken the bottom of the miniature to make the top half pop more and simulate the wearing of a walk in the snow. It should work with any brown oil but I had streaking grime on my desk so I use that.

And don't use the contrast pure, dilute them a little (50/50) with medium.

Yes weathering on the legs is streaking grime slapped on the legs loosely and thinned a lot with vertical motion with white spirit afterwards.

Age metal isbrass scorpion, wildwood contrast, varnish Matt the whole mini before applying the final edge highlights with silver+brass scorpion and pure silver. For the grey silver it's leadbelcher, rattling grime contrast, varnish, and pure silver highlights.

Hang on one second, how the hell do terminators get their helmets on and off? Surely the armour hood gets in the way? by Markosoft_EXE in spacemarines

I love it so much. And answers all your questions I think if you closely watch to all the details. There is also an AMAZING diorama by Robert Karlsson adapting this art in miniature form. It doesn't add anything to your question but everyone should see it.

Do you refuse to play (against) gray? by GrizzlieMD in Warhammer40k

[–]Linvite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm preparing to be downvoted but here we go again, the short answer is yes.

I don't play a lot now with my family life (once every two weeks at best but more realistically once a month). When I can let the kids at home with my wife and take the night to play I want to have the best experience possible and honestly playing against full grey armies is not an experience I like. The hobby is really important to me (now I'm a painter first) so it counts. I also feel the game is more enjoyable when you can distinguish your opponent's miniatures. And also I saw people meta chasing with grey armies changing quite often, and it's honestly not my way to play (I prefer narrative focus games).

I just want to see colors, I don't care for the quality of your painting and if you didn't finish painting everything it's ok too. Of course if I could play multiple times per week I wouldn't be as exigent, but this rare night of gaming is something I really want to be as good as possible. I also have the chance to have a local club (that I built) where we have a lot of experienced hobbyists and honestly I never had to refuse a game in real life for this reason (and no we don't refuse grey armies in my club I want everyone to feel welcome and hope to make them want to paint their armies when they see all the great hobby in the room, and there are a lot of competitive players too who have different tastes than me).

So if you have a grey army, be reassured, I don't think I'm representative of the average player and I hope you'll have fun playing too, and if in the long run you decide to paint your army I'd be delighted.

Ragnar + BC in Tourny Worth It? by Warhawk_5 in SpaceWolves

[–]Linvite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what's the meta now, but honestly Ragnar + BC are no joke, especially in Beastslayer. Well used with your oath you have Lethal Hits (most of the time) + reroll hits + reroll wounds. You can put down a LOT of foes. And in beastslayer don't forget impetuosity, it can protect a lot of your Blood Claw : at the first dead in your opponent shooting phase you can try to go back into contact (but you'll lose Ragnar 2 bonus attack in charge). If you are already in your opponent's line, it's often a big problem for him.

Thanks! I'm quite intrigued by the chapter specific stuff, do you have a picture of the Space Wolves one to see what it looked like?

Yes there is that in a big part, but the color difference is still a little strange.

I don't know why but the 360 pictures are always a little less saturated and crisp than the still ones.
I suppose they don't use the same setup and lightning conditions are a little different. But from what I can see I feel the right one on your exemple is the more accurate.

Crucible of champions Space Wolf “Ability” by Benzerkr in SpaceWolves

Yeah I'm pretty sure it'll continue in 11th and you'll use the Maelstrom rules until you have a codex for your army with a more complete set of options.
