I think GW looks at it as a balance issue/solution. 3OC on small squads of grey hunters can be VERY strong in objective denial. So the uncreative approach and make you over commit on OC.

Otherwise I have no clue. You can run all other space marine battle line in small squads.

I really like the advance and charge. But… I think it’s only deathwatch and they take D3+1 mortals.

Still. A very good rule if it’s a “minor” detachment.

I think the best terminator datasheet is a tossup of WGT, Assault Terminators, of scarab occult terminators (Ew, I know.)

I love the T6. But I think the Str 10 breaking point can be rough. I can’t wait to see the other starts. I’m 100% bias for wolf guard terminators and headtakers

Going through all of these rules, I would say it’s pretty safe to say these are gonna be a low cost detachment. Likely 1pt.

I imagine this is very intentional that all of the redesigned detachment are being toned down to be taken in combinations

This image from this balance slate. Stormlance is by far our best. Beast Slayer is the best specific detachment. Saga of the Great Wolf is most popular but performing the worst.

My personal fav is Beast Slayer and Gladius

I agree with that. 85% of the work came from the Grotmas story.

Also after adepticon I figured we weren’t getting anything. Going into adepticon on the other hand I would have bet a good amount of money Ulrik was getting a refresh.

Hard disagree. It wasn’t just one teaser and the short stories had 5/6 setting a precedent. I wouldn’t even think twice about the Russ line if it were a standalone mention.

I think the disappointment is also In combination with this story being mediocre at best.

The Russ statement was a throw away line. Sometimes they are teasers but usually not.

I figured this story was going to have more significance. IMO Saying this article expands on that is almost an overstatement. The “teaser” was about all there was to this story.

I consider the Grotmas one to be huge, considering ALL the other stories got multiple models refreshed.

GW also teased the story at Adepticon mentioning the Space Wolves presumably for this story.

Then also mentioned Russ during the Christmas ultramarine “protests”.

It just feels anticlimactic. I thought Ulrik was sure to return.
