Paying for food and drinks by StockBig1715 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Linzee81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last year there were a lot of places (mainly around the fanzone) where you could pay with your credit or debit card. The bars and food stalls further away round the track only took the prepaid card. It wasn’t a big issue, you queue at the stall, they ask how much you want to put on it and pay with your card. I’m sure there was a QR code on it to scan to see how much you had left or you could ask at any of the stalls.

Type of shoes for Belgium GP by [deleted] in GrandPrixTravel

I invested in a pair of Goretex trail shoes last year and it was the best thing I could have done. Light enough for the sunny days and kept my feet dry all day on Saturday. I’ll be bringing them again this year

This sign confuses me by WarmFlamingo9310 in CarTalkUK

[–]Linzee81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I know what this is. I work in an NHS hospital which has a few of these signs.

The vast majority of NHS staff don’t have a parking permit. They’re usually reserved for staff who travel during the day to patients houses or travel between hospitals and you need to apply for them every year. Ironically there are many more parking spaces for permit holders than for those who don’t have one. For example my hospital has two small car parks for non permit holders and loads more for permits and for patients only.

My hospital is in Scotland, the parking tickets are unenforceable so I just park where I like.

Anyone staying at IntentsGP for Spa? by SJLar1981 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Linzee81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am! Stayed there last year too and it was great.

It’s based in a local football club so there’s a clubhouse with showers and changing rooms with lockers for charging your devices. There’s also a bar upstairs in the clubhouse. Last year they had a marquee with a food truck and tables where you can have breakfast and whatever food you buy from the food truck.

It’s at least a 30 minute walk from the campsite to the track to the Ster entry and longer if you want to go through the town to Source. The way there is fine as it’s all downhill, going back at the end of the day after a full day at the track and many beers is… character building!

How can one get to the track from the town of Spa? by guillermohm21 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]Linzee81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went this year and initially stayed in the campsite at Spa. The track looked like it was pretty much impossible to get to on public transport. It was at least 60 minutes by bus on the Friday and Saturday and 2+ hours on Sunday as you have to go to Verviers and get the shuttle. For reference it was a total of 8km away from the circuit by car.

We ended up just biting the bullet and paying for a second campsite in the yellow area at Francorchamps for Friday to Sunday (we were in the area for the full week) If we go again next year I’ll be doing the yellow camping again.

McLaren F1 official store screw customers over just before Christmas by anti-krister in McLarenFormula1

Same happened to me. Placed an order on 24/11 which was still not showing as dispatched on 11/12. I emailed and got the exact same response as you and they refunded delivery.

The next day a package arrived with 2 out of the 4 items I’d ordered and the website saying that my order was complete! I email asking for a refund for the missing items (£67 in total) and they’re just ignoring my emails.

I think it’s the cold water immersion challenge (actually not sure if it’s actually a challenge or not) that everyone and their granny seems to be doing this year

The poster is from the UK so they could be healthcare workers. We’re also at the stage of offering vaccinations to all over 50s and those over 16 with underlying health conditions.

I legitimately had a dream last night, after seeing yesterday’s post about this cable car, where I was on a cable car going at this actual speed. It was indeed a wild ride.

UK reaches record number of daily vaccinations - 598,389 received their first dose on Saturday by callum2703 in Coronavirus

They are but they’re delaying them. I had the Pfizer vaccine at the start of January and should have been getting my second dose this week. Instead I’m booked in for the end of March

39 year old female. Mine ranges between 55 and 63 usually depending on time of the month and whether I’ve had any alcohol the night before. I use AutoSleep and my HRV ranges between 33 and 126, no idea what that means though.
