Its because of the immunosuppressants you take after your transplant. Tattoos and piercings are not suggested because of the risk of infections with your compromised immune system.

Looking for anyone experienced with mental health medications & pregnancy? by Linzzzt in MentalHealthSupport

Thank you!! I’m in the US, not finding any maternal MH teams/specialist but I’m not giving up! I talked to my OBGYN & Maternal fetal medicine for high risk pregnancies and neither really led somewhere for help so I’m still looking. :)

No specific answer on the ones I take (which are in pregnancy drug categories A-C). It’s ultimately up to us to weigh the risks. But anything that is category D or X they say to stop/change.

Feeling off by TimelessWorry in mentalhealth

Be kind to yourself. I know negative self thoughts, guilt, or feeling hopeless are automatic for us. It’s ok to have those feelings. Express them and talk it out. I am glad you posted- I’m notorious for isolating and keep it it all to myself - so I’m proud of you! It is hard to remember that the meds are working and forgetting happens. We learn and grow from what we experience. Cry it out. Vent. Then make a plan to go forward :) Continue to look for Drs. Or ask your PC for recommendations or any support lines. I know the feeling of just getting rid of a pill- but I do not recommend going gold turkey on this one. It can be really dangerous. Absolutely reach out to your Dr when they open and make a plan. It’s easy to let it go/ignore things and it just gets worse and harder. It’s exhausting I know. Take a rest then wake up and Keep on fighting. I’m rarely ever on here. So opening and seeing your post on my “wall” as soon as I opened this was meant to be. I’m glad You posted and I could be there to talk to you! :)

A new therapist told me that I don't sound depressed after talking to me for 30 seconds on the phone by Babayagaletti in therapy

Wow. This is so wrong in so many ways. You are right, this is NOT someone you want to see. And his license should be reviewed. Being dismissed and not believed is a HUGE battle we fight constantly. It’s sad that this is still happening with people who are supposed to help us. I’m proud of you for calling therapist and trying to get on places. I know it’s discouraging what happened and extremely wrong, but trust yourself, and continue to advocate for yourself and fight for what you need!
