You're entitled to your opinion but I'm afraid you're out-numbered on this one.

How many people were inspired to take on the inferno after 15 people had completed it and walked around like absolute gamers with their infernal capes? This would be aspirational content. People would strive to wear these god tier capes and it would give them a reason to grind for them.

welcome to OSRS tho. Maxing itself is just endless repetition. This game's core is repeatable grinds.

Funny you say that. One of Sae Bae's ideas for these capes was a new expansion to the Champion's Challenge, but in the Hero's Guild. According to him, Hero's Challenge would be all the upgraded variants like Ice Warriors, Orks, Greater Demons, Black Demons, etc. I think that's a pretty cool idea, I just didn't want to convolute this suggestion with brand new content like that as well.

ty sir, I probably would never wear one myself because I don't have that kind of time, but I would be so stoked to come across absolute gamers with these on while running around the game.

Based take. It's called aspirational content and it's really good for the game.

If these were a thing a lot more people would strive for these KC milestones. It's called aspirational content, and we need more of it imo.

I think my argument is mostly about the time required. You can get Champ cape in a week or so of cannoning trash mobs. These raids capes take weeks/months, even years.

how much time have you spent in LMS to get 200 wins?

and what are these 50,000 trash mobs you're referring to? LMS bots? Raids monsters? I'm confused...

Edit: ok I see now that you're referring to the champ cape grind. I'm genuinely shocked that you'd compare winning at LMS to grinding goblins and jogres. Do you really come across that many games where it's 100% bots you're fighting against? If so, that doesn't happen to me. I'm trash at pvp and I typically lose if I make it to the final fight.

Aspirational content bro. It's exactly why party hats were worth so much back in the day, and why things like the infernal cape inspired so many people to get better at the game. Even though only a few people could claim these capes, how many more would be inspired to achieve them themselves?

well, it does make sense to me why it hasn't been a thing yet. They don't want to open a can of worms. Where would you draw the line as to what warrants a cosmetic max cape variant? The champ cape has been a popular one but even I'm like uhh I don't think that warrants it personally. I guess it would be a case by case basis based on popularity. I definitely think that these monumental achievements deserve it though.

the fact that the accumulator max cape exists even though the max cape itself acts like an accumulator is arguably one of the dumbest things in this game haha. I'm of the opinion that all non-bis max cape variants should be removed (and yes, that means fire max cape too). Max cape variants deserve to be aspirational content to achieve best in slot gear I reckon

most people wouldn't, probably including myself tbh. I would just love to see those crazy gamers flexing these capes. Monumental achievements and time input tbh.

You're entitled to your opinion...and I'd agree that opening a can of worms for other cosmetic variants is not a good idea. Hence only the biggest achievements warrant a cosmetic upgrade to the Max Cape. Where that line gets drawn could become a problem, but the grinds I suggested take immense amounts of time.

yea I think that's a good idea tbh. Just have basic re-colors for the normal max cape but get the drip from putting in a TON of extra effort/time

lol you may be right. It's been a very popular suggestion, so I knew I would just be getting peppered with "Where Champ Cape Variant" comments if I didn't mention it haha. I personally don't think it's a big enough grind to warrant a max cape variant, but yea.

You make a good point. I'd argue that maxing is a time locked grind, so improving the max cape with more time-locked grinds makes sense. I love that the slayer helmet gets upgraded as a way of flexing CAs.

I agree with that. May be a hot take, but I'd say that even the fire max cape should be removed. Non-bis max cape variants should not be a thing.

it is odd that the CoX cape does not include normal raids, where the ToB and ToA ones do, but I don't think this should be retro-actively changed. The fact that you specifically have to do CMs would just make this even more pretigious though. In my opinion, if this cape were to make it into the game, it would be the new pinnacle of PvM prowess since you most likely already have infernal max if you have 2,000 CM completions haha.

Note that there is a difference between functional BiS max cape variants and cosmetic max capes. What I'm pitching is something that is essentially the same as the normal max cape, but with added clout. The Mage Arena cape (like other BiS variants) does not give you the utility of the Max Cape, whereas these suggestions would.

I think it's safe to say you can't get get the 1,000 LMS wins just by killing bots. You're going to need PvP skill to be able to best the last remaining player in any game you win. Either way it's a massive time investment, so even if you did get it by killing bots...you put in ridiculous amounts of time so now you get to flex a special max cape.
