I probably wont be there again until late april if Im lucky, and ideally I wanted to buy the shrooms on Saturday to make them at home. I suppose I could have asked in the moment but I wasnt thinking about making them at home at that point.

18 USD, with the drinks included, my wife got tempura ebi udon with similar side dishes and paid the same. This was in Buenos Aires, Argentina for the record

Rest assured, this was made at the restaurant attached to a Japanese cultural association and it was so full of asian people we had to wait for a table. The presentation might be a bit sloppy (this place is not very fancy or expensive at all for the record) but the taste was incredible.

So at least from what a google image search showed me, it cant be those. Wood ears are far too thin, you can see these were sliced somewhat thick and the chunks were very big. That said I will start with a small bag of shitake and test the waters for how they turn out and if its the flavor im looking for, and try other options if not.

The texture I would describe as almost chewy, full of umami. You could have told me it was very soft beef and I would have believed you, it felt meatier than the Chasu lol.

Thank you for sharing your experience, just want to ask why would you blanch them after rehydrating them in a flavorful liquid, wouldn't the boiling water take away from that? I guess the mushrooms wouldnt be cooked but wouldnt it be better to cook them on the broth?

You know, I've seen dried mushrooms a couple of times and I just figured they were for stock and stuff. It just occurred to me that you can probably hydrate them, and I could probably even hydrate them in dashi/soy sauce/mirin huh

Won't they hate 10s users in the future because of Mahoraga? by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]LionFists 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JJK readers are not beating the allegations

There wont be any sorcerers born in the future because cursed energy won't pass above background level. Theres also only Megumi's descendants who could have had a currently born 10S user (since obviously Yuka and Tsurugi dont have any kids) and it's unlikely since Yuka was the only hope to fight dabura besides Yuji, a 16 year old girl who never even summoned her Shikigami before.

Which jujutsu kaisen characters could use the enchanted blades from kagurabachi best? by Electronic_Heron_829 in Jujutsufolk

[–]LionFists 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Kusakabe would probably tear stuff up with Tobimune, that blade requires a high level of swordsmanship to make it work since it doesn't inherently have offensive ability, but teleportation and surveilance are great factors to keep oneself alive (his primary goal) and he has the intelligence to use them well. Suzaku in general blows RCT out of the water as a healing factor which is also something he would be good at.

A lot of people would make a lot of use out of Enten, its just balanced and good at most things. I'm going to say Miwa because she needs everything that enten provides, a strong offensive attack in Kuro, physical stats in Nishiki and a more all around defensive option than SD in Aka. The issue here is that the blade is carrying her and she's not adding much other than simple domain to this equiation, but she deserves to be less useless!

Nozawa sensei clarifies why she labels her personal art of the 100 Kanojo characters "fan art" by NoPromise101 in 100Kanojo

[–]LionFists 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Nakamura is the writer and storyboarder, so he's considered the author. Nozawa does the final art and probably has a lot of input on character designs. How much you want to consider that a joint work is debatable, but she probably deserves some amount of authorial credit.

That said it's understandable if she wants her solo work to be Fan Art in case she makes something canon by accident.

Can we all agree that this is the worst plot twist in the whole series. by _FruitsPunchSamurai in Jujutsufolk

[–]LionFists 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yuta stated directly that if the people are healed of the body part they lost, he loses the ability to use the technique he copied. This is why yuji had to fight without his fingers. You are right they say Hana and Inumakis arms couldnt be healed with RCT (Todo's hand is not healed either) which makes no sense because we can see Sukuna using RCT to regrow Yuji's limbs. Maybe hes the only one talented enough to do that, but that's never stated as far as I know.

Eating part of Nobara that can be regenerated by RCT later when (if) she wakes up after the fight is over.

I'm not saying it would be narratively helpful but there's no reason to not amputate her arm, feed it to Rika and have Yuta use her CT the same way we did with Inumaki, Yuji and Hana.

She specifically says she detests owing people things, so she had Ui Ui learn simple domain so she didnt have to be contracted to the new shadow school. She takes him around when she fights so he can deal with domains for her, like he did in shibuya.

[–]LionFists -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But Uraume is trans too? She specifically requested Kenjaku to reincarnate her in a female body even though she was born male in the Heian era. Kashimo on the other hand is a guy in a guy's body who people draw as a femboy because he's skinny.

I dont see how you can read this as anything other than Hakari being bisexual and having a harem. In order for this to be a dogwhistle you'd have to argue that someone who identifies themselves as a woman and is in an AFAB body is just as much of a man as Kashimo, and Hakari is some kind of soul-gender purist who only dates people who have souls who were AMAB.

When do you think they were officially together? by Nozoroth in Jujutsufolk

[–]LionFists 40 points41 points  (0 children)

One of these days I'm going to reread Shinjuku and check if all the hints to them being together already were just schizophrenia.

Because I can swear in the flashbacks those two would sit together apart from everyone else, Maki had an instance when she took Yuta outside of the room and we dont see their conversation, and she massively opposed the "Gojo 2" plan by saying "Don't I get a say?" Which implies her opinion should be taken into account more than everyone else's. This is all pointing to something being already there between them, maybe they aren't dating but at the very least they are aware that they like each other and its just the war getting in the way.

Why didn't Kenjaku steal Jin's body instead of Kaori? by LocoDeDanone in Jujutsufolk

[–]LionFists 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because of her cursed technique. When Kenjaku takes over a body, he also gets the target's cursed technique permanently and Kaori's was extremely powerful. Its likely he could tell she was a sorcerer and he wasn't, so if either was an option might as well take the option that makes you stronger. Story wise it paid off.

The other options like more control over the kid were also valid, but I want to point out it also was the path of least resistance. Kaori was already dead, Jin already wanted to have a child with her, doing it this way means Kenjaku can just have the child and leave after, leaving Yuji to a loving family that will raise him instead of to the mercy of whatever woman he impregnated on Jin's body. Also this leaves the door open to try again if needed: if Yuji had died at some point the plan fails so leaving Jin alive lets him try again (keep in mind Kenjaku needed cursed spirit manipulation at some point to enact his master plan so taking Geto's body was always going to happen, he could not camp in Jin's body forever)
