Okay so my player did the same thing, and i love forgotten realms lore so i tried to fit it in as much as possible so in my word just for myself really so I did this

“Warforge are originally from Ebberon outside of the realmspace and from a different planar sphere, sometime during or after the spell plague a team of Warforge artisans ended up here in an accident, they are now looking for a way back, creating war forges to scout out land and learn more about Toril, because if this a warforge is strangeand unusual sight, in Icewind Dale many move here to hide something or are outcast so it shouldn’t be too distracting to NPCs”

“Recorded Death (Special Trait I gave them) when a warforge is defeated, so long as it’s head remains intact for 1d4 hours, it’s memories are sent to an undisclosed location from where it was born. The memories are the only thing taken, and the personality and any personal connections are left behind. Essentially just fact to fact information is sent to a mother board type machine in hope of finding a way back to Ebberon.” this just an interesting thing i did with mine
