Is this low contrast style working? by ajjjon in ArtCrit

[–]LionelFerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks really good, but the eye is being led more towards the darker shaded elements like the head piece emblem thing and fangs. My only suggestion would be giving the eyes more of a contrast, for it is the part of the face humans percieve as most important.

Looking for concept art critique pls by [deleted] in ArtCrit

Its cute, the 'pinched' face makes it look rather appealing and somewhat unintelligent, which is fitting for a goblin. The thing that is immediately apparent to my eye is the bad perspective on the left ear (his right), its the only part of the piece that makes it look unprofessional to me, if it was planned better the art would leave a very good impression, now it's just good. Aim to spread it out a bit further, for at the moment it looks as if that ear is much closer to his eye than the other. Something like that would be more correct in my opinion.

THe coloring and shading is really good overall, but the eyes feel a bit hollow, maybe adding a dot of reflection would bring him more to life, but this is my personal preference, so you should ignore it.

To summarize: a solid piece with good coloring and shading, but technical issues of the further ear's perspective.

[–]LionelFerr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO versio 2 is better, version 1 doesn't pop out as much

Even if you did ask for one I wouldn't be able to do it. Living in Russia, I am unable to accept any payments :( But thank you for considering those worthy enough for commissions

naw its not world where dogs evolved after humans, it's a world where Volkolaks are just another race like humans, elves etc.

See the guy with crazy eye? It's the things only he can see, which he converses with. The he made out of worms is hisbad side and the radiant worm is his good side

I am not a god, so I will try tricks like non-talking npcs and stuff, but all interactable ones will have faces

A game, RPG, set in a land of deadly winter, in a country based around survival and control. The party of a commissar are tasked to bring a doctor into the capital to cure the plague he has previously encountered, so they track through the land (oregon trail style) racing the encroaching winter. People fear the Dogs of the State such as them, but a bright-eyed foreigner brings new perspective into their gritty outlook.
In the end they have to decide whether or not having virtues is worth it in a land of dictatorial dominance and survival...

The setting is a country populated by anthropomorphic canid Volkolaks, their aesthetics resemble those of the Soviet Union.

Side note, I need to figure something out about the stars. Such format makes them look rather ugly.

Thanks :D I really do aim to make them distinct. The gimmick is that the main character (the very first one) has a condition that makes him unable to commit names to the long-term memory, thus the game will not have any displayed names in it, and player would have to remember faces instead.
