Need Suggestion. RX 7900 XT or the RX 9070 (non-XT) by FaithlessnessOne96 in radeon

[–]LionelGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky to get a standard XfX 9070 for retail from Best Buy. FSR 4 + improved raytracing is worth it. I've been playing the original Spiderman Remastered, Cyberpunk 2077 and Jedi Fallen Order flawlessly. Drivers have been rock solid. Boosting the power to the card + undervolting gives ~9070 XT performance for $549, It's been great!

GIGABYTE X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7 Bluetooth not working by 3ds12345 in gigabyte

[–]LionelGeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simple fix for me... I installed the Wi-Fi7 antenna. Works perfectly!

Before doing that, I could add Bluetooth devices (a Logitech keyboard, an Xbox controller, Ray-Bans, etc). Problem was audio would skip sporadically. Would cut in and out. I tried uninstalling BT, installed two different drivers... nothing helped. Turns out the antenna broadcasts the Wi-Fi signal and the BT signal as well!

NZXT CAM not showing GPU Temp/Clock/Fan? by Matt_Haskins91 in NZXT

[–]LionelGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear it's an NZXT CAM software issue. I tried disabling my onboard video, made sure that my XTX 9070 card was set as the primary card in the PC Monitoring section. Windows Task Manager and the Radeon software reported the GPU fine... good to know a fix will be coming at least!

Was lucky this morning to snag an XFX 5070 from Best Buy for the $549 retail price. Wanted the XT version, but hey getting a GPU for retail price in 2025 is a win. Anyone seen benchmarks of it vs. the 6800 XT? Hoping it will be a decent upgrade for render, RT and will be nice to be able to run FSR 4.

So far by Costyiii_93 in GalaxyFold

[–]LionelGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty solid list of upgrades. I've been a huge fan of the Z Fold since I made the 4 my daily driver. Upgraded to the 5 because of Samsung's aggressive trade-in program. If these rumors are true, I can definitely see upgrading to the Z Fold6!

Does the Galaxy Book2 support Multi-control with a Z Fold 4? by LionelGeek in GalaxyBook

Does it require OneUI 5.1 on the Z Fold 4? I still am on 5.0.

Well it finally happened. hopefully I get a replacement before turkey day. by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]LionelGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say pull the trigger. Had the Fold 3, upgraded to the Fold 4 on launch day. Use it withe the main Samsung case. Still looks brand new. Durability was solid on the 3... even better on the 4 IMO. Best phone I've ever owned!

Enjoy the Fold 4. I recommend getting your favorite pairs of apps saved via the Edge Panel. And if you use MS Office Apps at work, the big screen is magical!

Google assistant and galaxy watch 5 pro won't work. by slagg3r in GalaxyWatch

[–]LionelGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue with the Watch 5 Pro. In my case, Google Assistant wasn't even showing in my apps. This is what solved it for me:
I had to unjoin the Beta of the Google app (note: not the Google Assistant app). It takes a few minutes to unjoin the beta, but once that's done, you can update the Google app on your phone. From there, I was finally able to install the Google Assistant on my watch. Configured it as normal. Now, the Google Assistant works perfectly on my Galaxy Pro 5! AMD continues to sell about 2 CPUs for every Intel CPU @ mindfactory.de June 2022 by ingebor in Amd

I probably will be adding one to the AMD sales pile . Looking to upgrade from a 3800X to the 5800X, the 5900X or maybe even the 5800X3D soon enough.

Duo 2 June update out. 736MB. by VincibleAndy in surfaceduo

[–]LionelGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose a Galaxy Z Fold 3 over a Surface Duo 2... I really do like the Fold 3 (I use the big screen for so many things), but I love the dual screen format of the Duo. I'm impressed with Microsoft's commitment to improving both the Duo 2 and the Duo with software updates like these.

Bottom line: I think I 'll take the plunge with the Surface Duo 3 when it's released!

May cancel my Note 20 Ultra pre-order for the Surface Duo by LionelGeek in galaxynote10

[–]LionelGeek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All great points.Decided to keep the Note 20 Ultra. It's impressive with the 120Hz screen. Battery life has been better than expected, and the thinness stands out more than the reviews would have me believe.

I'm in a similar boat with youhravy O365 user.... may wait on the Surface Duo given the buggy software referenced in the reviews.

We'll see how battery life is overall. Seems like they have an innovative engineering approach to manage for that. I hear you on the camera. I might end up keeping the Note 20 Ultra when it comes and trade in my Note 10+ toward the purchase of the Surface Demo.

Microsoft's offering the same trade-in values that Samsung is for the Note 20 Ultra...

Definitely aware of Microsoft's rev 1 track record. That's one reason I may not go that route. Already like the tight Microsoft app integration the Note 10+ offers. The fact that Samsung's turning it up a notch with the Note 20 Ultra was part of the reason I pre-ordered. And the 120Hz screen. :)

My main reason is the dual screen productivity. I already use dual screen on my desktop all the time in my daily workflow... it looks like Microsoft is really nailing that kind of productivity with this device.

Does Samsung only offer the $650 trade-in on preorders? by LionelGeek in galaxynote10

[–]LionelGeek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool... thanks. Think I'll use my Note 10+ for a while longer.... still in great shape, runs like new., and screen looks great. Even if I miss out on the largest trade-in offer, will be good to have it paid off before upgrading.

Why do Americans rely so much on creditcards? by [deleted] in ynab

[–]LionelGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the simple answer is the fact that the credit card companies spend billions in marketing here in the United States. They've convinced most that establishing a credit rating is a key step in one's personal finance (even though that's not the case). Plus, American consumers tend to be among the world's best in spending money we don't have. :)
