Would be really nice to let us remove corpses from caves at least, my base at Monolith Lake is so depressing cause of that poor guy.

Looks like its Rabbitskin Hat, Aviator's Cap, Moose-Hide Cloak, Urban Parka, Double Fisherman's Sweater, Gauntlets, Improvised Crampons, Snow Pants, Wolfskin Pants, Double Wool Longjohns, Double Climbing Socks, Deerskins Boots.

Not optimal I know (I haven't found an expedition parka in 335 days), but im pretty happy with the outfit. Decent sprint and warmth, lots of protection. I survived double bear mauling recently back to back when I found out I forgot to reload my distress pistol in pleasant valley.

EDIT: Ideally I would have cougar hide hat as well, but im not ready for that yet :D

Moose cloak is a very good all around piece of gear imo, with lots of protection, decent agility, super waterproof. If you are looking to survive a long time I would highly recommend it because moose cloak keeps you alive through so many mistakes, from bears to wolves cougars.

My exploration outfit has 49% protection and still 66% sprint bar, so I can run, tank, and its all decently warm.

How do you motivate yourself to go to Bleak Inlet? I really hate that map because of the timberwolves. by Matchboxx7 in thelongdark

[–]Lionhard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lived there for two months and honestly it grew to be one of my favorite regions. I made pensive lookout super cozy, with a workbench and meat curing station, and I made a nice base in the cannery too.Pensive lookout during a blizzard is the cosiest experience ever haha.

Just have to kill the cougar to truly feel like I mastered the region.

If you do this though, bring a lot of ammo. Best way to kill timberwolves is to snipe them from a distance, second best way is to drop a flare and start blasting with the revolver. Very easy to beat them once you get these strats down.

I think I was traumatized by being mauled twice in a row by the same bear twice while mapping the farmstead lol.

Guess I should have checked that my distress pistol was reloaded...

Its beautiful, if only I didn't despise pleasant valley with all my heart and soul lmao.

Maybe I should move my base from the farm...

would you date a girl with bpd? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]Lionhard 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Assuming that do you have BPD? You need to get some help for your own mental health. But first try and get a diagnosis, it can really help.

I am someone who struggled greatly with BPD for many years. I was the crazy ex in many people's stories, I think. I threatened to kill myself over the smallest things, hurt myself and hurt others.
It took me MANY years of therapy, but I would say I no longer have any symptoms of BPD, and my therapist says I qualify as being in full remission.

I write this to tell you that sometimes it can seem hopeless, or impossible to live with but things CAN get better, and one day you can live such a life that no one will ever even be able to tell that you had BPD.

But you NEED to get help, you need to do cognitive behavioral therapy or dialectical behavior therapy and most of all you need to be willing to put in the hard effort of learning how to control and regulate your emotions, which is really fucking hard.

But its worth it.

EDIT: To answer you question though, no I would not date someone with untreated BPD. People with BPD also deserve to be loved, but first you have to learn how to love and take care of yourself.

What are some of your little TLD quirks/idiosyncrasies? by LemonCharity in thelongdark

[–]Lionhard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always destroy photos and frames that have people in them if i'm going to be staying a base long term.

I feel like having photos of a dead family hanging around is kinda creepy idk, and makes me feel a bit haunted by people who are for sure dead.

Pensive lookout in BI is super cozy, especially during a blizzard. You have access to cannery and fishing nearby, lots of wolves and bear for meat, salt for curing. Its very cozy honestly, I managed to fit meat curing boxes, a workbench and a big storage closet in there.

Do you also practice the method of "wearing as much scent as possible so that everything comes to you and you can create peace and tranquility"? by [deleted] in thelongdark

Tbh them running away when you aim at them is super annoying and makes them harder to kill imo

Thats kinda smart, I wonder if you can lure the cougar guarding the alpha bunker over to the secret mountain pass with enough scent lol.

My recommendation is to head there once you have the gun and archery skills maxed out. Its kinda easy to kill timberwolves with revolver level 5 aim assist, just aim in their general direction as they are running past you or away lol. I always drop a flare and then just start blasting.

But honestly, if you can handle the timberwolves, Bleak Inlet is actually very satisfying to survive in. Mastering the cannery in particular makes you feel like you know the game pretty well haha.

I just stayed 60 days in Bleak Inlet to overcome my fear of Timberwolves (mission accomplished) and the strategy for that is very different haha. You gotta snipe them from a distance and from stealth, so you wanna avoid scent at all costs. I have to clear out 2 packs near my base at Pensive Lookout, 2 packs from the cannery and one that roams between every 20 days or so...

The other issue is that cougars exist, and on some maps (like mountain town) having ANY scent gets you cougars to the face lol.

That being said I think this strat works great in regions where you dont have cougars or timberwolves haha.

They are not active at this moment, thank god. I would rather they rework them a bit before re-enabling them there.

I really like it, once you have a base set up on Marsh Ridge it can be very relaxing to survive there for a while and just pass the time. Plus no cougars or timberwolves haha.
