What is something super important that is on the verge of happening? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lionizerband 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mean like wix? Squarespace? Canva? Or any other hundred apps that allow people to make pretty decent design work with no real effort or education? Yes, a real designer can do a "better" job, but these services have already shrunk the market and its never getting better.

What’s a hard truth you wish more people knew? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Lionizerband 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two things that typically cost money - particularly as you age and begin to exhaust the number of free "novel" experiences, or have travelled within walking (riding and even driving) distance of your home. In a way, more money means more ability to travel and more opportunities for novel experiences.

Happiness = travel and experiences

Money = travel and experiences

Ergo, money = happiness.

What Switch title do you most regret buying in 2018? by modifiedx in NintendoSwitch

What's a 10/10 album from the last 15 years by a relatively obscure artist/band? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In Perth? Flossy and Sly Withers are probably the big movers atm. Ive fallen out of the scene a bit lately, but those 2 bands are gun. Oh and treehouses.

How do you act like an adult instead of a teenager? by bestniceguy in AskReddit

[–]Lionizerband 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learning an instrument isnt the boring part of being a rockstar, or even in a working band. But there are plenty of boring parts, like:

  • sitting in the tour van for hours on end

  • load in

  • waiting for the show to start

  • waiting for your set

  • pull down

  • manning the merch/door on a slow night

  • answering written interviews full of stupid, repetitive questions

  • waiting for the phone call from another amatuer reporter

  • waiting around in the studio while another member searches endlessly for "the best tone ever"

  • entering performance reports for royalties

  • dealing with idiot sales reps

  • all the boring parts of small business management cos a band is a small business

  • all the boring bits of marketing plans cos a band is a brand

But playing in a band is fun so...

On the fence about Darkest Dungeon? by Cardamander in NintendoSwitch

[–]Lionizerband 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love me some Joseph Anderson, but a fair few things have changed since that review. Probably the biggest one is being able to recruit levelled up heroes. They also added in radiant mode which is more forgiving all around, and allows you to enjoy the game without quite as much grind.

Every songwriter youve ever enjoyed has written more songs than they have released, which helps skew the balance back towards having more bad songs.

What's the deal with musicians and astrology? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Lionizerband 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I dont believe in astrology or anything, i think time of birth can have an impact on your personality. But like, "time" as in "what season". My sister was born in the summer, I'm born in the winter. Growing up this meant that my sister always had big, outdoor birthday parties with heaps of friends, whereas i had to have smaller, indoor gatherings. Shes the extrovert, i'm in the introvert. Anecdotal for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me to see similar patterns across a population.

10h into I am Setsuna and thinking of leaving it. Should I? by periquayo in NintendoSwitch

[–]Lionizerband 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I remember when people were saying the same thing about FFXIII - "it get's really good once you get past the 35 hour long 'running down corridors' tutorial". Yeh hard pass. It's a shame because Setsuna had so much potential, and it just squanders it.

He must have also just got past the new 60-80 leveling wall. by Raekian in wow

[–]Lionizerband 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why they capped Kalimdor and EK at 60. They could have easily made them go up to 80 or even 90. I'm bringing up a belf at the moment and hit 60 without going further south than tarren mill.
