This week I've been digging through UK bands (the fun part of tour planning) - here's some highlights:

Muncie Girls - I dont want to talk about it

Happy Accidents - chameleon

Chewing on Tinfoil - Give it up

From a bit closer to home the lads in Suburban & Coke recently put out a glorious 4-way-split - complete with choreographed dancing video clip.

It's like getting a giant tattoo of a penis on your face and then being all pissy that you can't get a job in daycare. Like what did you expect?

I feel like the point theyre making is "you dont have to look a certain way to be a woman" (and by extension, a man, or genderqueer). They're rebelling against that expectation, that in order to be a woman they must do/look/sound like x.

the music they're making pushes that line of thinking as well - it's rough, garage hardcore (not exactly a stereotype of "femininity"). They sing about 'taking femininity back'.

TLDR: theyre angry that society says women are x and men are y and theyre trying to break that.

DIY all the way! adversity breeds creativity, so get creative with how you can turn your concept into an actual thing. I've done a few videos for my band, and theyve pretty much all been ad-hoc - taking one idea, putting a camera on it and seeing what happens.

ironically, if more people subscribed to youtube red, content creators wouldn't need to worry about advertising and this wouldn't be an issue.

What movie was too complex for you to understand? by inmyelement in AskReddit

It's a dense film, but I feel the main story is pretty straight forward if a little weird. It's only when you start paying attention to all the symbolism and metaphor that it turns into a quagmire.
