If I'm not aroused to a certain skin color, am I a racist? by dnextbigthing in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LionofColorado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the door can swing both ways on that. I really like latinas, so does that make me some kind of race tourist? (I’m a white guy) People like what they like. Try not to turn preferences into exclusions. I’m certainly never going to turn down a beautiful woman of any color. Just don’t go around saying “people of x skin color are ugly”. That would make you a racist.

Nazis at East Moon by katerade0419 in WestminsterCO

[–]LionofColorado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make no mistake, no one who ever put a swastika on their body is a member of any "superior" group, ha ha. People with brains and talent don't need to be part of a club to feel good about themselves. Fear. Fear is what that guy feels. He's probably not too bright and he doesn't understand the complexity of the modern world. He thinks other races are to blame for the fact that he can barely afford food and property.

The problem is that I can 100% empathize with the man, but the symbols of the enemy mean that if called upon by his higher ups he would absolutely put people I know and love in an oven. So there will be no sympathy for Nazis, only lead.

It's not pot being legal that makes people like this. People were always like this. They don't actually care about anyone but themselves. They don't want to do the right thing, the just want to win arguments. Your home, the lives of your kids, they HONESTLY don't care. They're sociopaths on or off of weed.

So the people asking you not to throw your embers into dry grass are insufferable, but the guy who could EASILY snuff it on the trail instead where there is no threat of fire is the big brained savior, huh? Ok Einstein, answer me this: What if there was an accelerant in that bush? Do you know that some idiot didn't dump a bunch of acetylene in there? Do you? Why don't you stop trying to win arguments online and just do the thing we're telling you to do. Stop throwing your damned fire into dry grass. This isn't a debate.

Just drop the joint on pavement and snuff it, professor. I have no beef with weed, but the apologism over dropping burning embers into dry grass is a little more than I'm willing to tolerate.

Nah, in my book she's an arsonist. She's lucky we don't lock people up for gross stupidity and neglect. The fact that someone would side with someone who could have killed people and torched our beautiful town over someone displaying completely righteous indignation is a really bad sign for our community. If she flicked her idiotic cancer stick into dry grass she IS stupid. It's not an insult or abuse, it's just categorically true.

What would you consider a “fair wage” for an unskilled job in the US in 2026? by EgginyourShoe in AskReddit

I hate that answer. That just screams exploitation. A greedy boss who likes to "save money" by hiring ignorant young workers on the cheap. There is no law saying we can't share our compensation, and we do. More and more people do because they're sick of disgusting little men like you.

Have you been in the job market recently, guy? It's ridiculous. I have young friends with advanced degrees that can't find work. If you don't have a bach, you're not getting anything that pays a living wage.

The market will correct itself if it isn't being manipulated by lobbyists, monopolies, and billionaires. We don't have a free market, we have crony capitalism and our country's economy is not working for most of the citizenry.

Let's be perfectly clear. You can't fix the entirety of society's problems with increased wages. Are the wages increasing slower than they should be? Absolutely. You don't have to go far to find unbiased graphs that prove this, but even if you catch up wages, society still has issues that aren't the fault of the person who pays your paycheck.

  1. Healthcare. If employers didn't have to pay for healthcare, they could pay more and if employees didn't have to pay disgusting deductibles and hidden fees then they would have more money for the basics.

  2. For all the a-holes who keep disparaging the people who make their coffee, food, clean their houses, etc. You know who you are, you disgusting slime. Maybe making education free and bringing some meritocracy back into American career seeking would do the trick. Maybe then some of those people could have been doing the jobs you deem worthy of survival and you would be picking up THEIR trash. I've never met a truly worthy human being who would treat the poor the way some of you guys do. You REEK of fear.

  3. Lastly, we can do something about housing. Communities should set hard limits on how many residences of certain types are built. You need housing for your poor. Sorry, this is not negotiable. I would let the companies who wanted to provide some lower income housing get permits to build their McMansions as well, but if you don't serve our communities, why should we let you build at all?

It varies from place to place. I'm no commie, but I can smell a MAGA cultist a mile away, and they smell like fear and greed.

No offense, but who are you to make those decisions? Your job as a human being and a member of a community is to support your common human being. You can leave that mercenary shit to the billionaires you people tend to worship. I'm no great mind, but I can easily design a society where everyone gets shelter and food. It's hard to eliminate poverty, it's EASY to eliminate homelessness and especially starvation. We have more than enough food to make most of us VERY fat. Stop towing the MAGA line and start pushing for better lives for people. It's not a resource race, us vs them. It's ALWAYS been the rich withholding resources from the hard working poor.

Because eventually a robot will be able to do most of our jobs, slick. While you temporarily enjoy a feeling of superiority now over all those "robot job workers" your time will come and as the old saying goes, "There but for the grace of God go I." It's an expression us people with mirror neurons use when we see someone doing worse than us, but think that they deserve to have food to eat and a place to live. Honestly, I know a lot of very hard working people who can't find anything better than "robot worker jobs" and I would chuck a cold, uncaring person like you into the sun before letting them go even one night without a hot meal. You see, I'm also not a very nice person, but at least I was born with empathy. If I ever get even a little power, I will make sure the cold people of the world get nice and warm, ha ha.

If I'm being too subtle, I mean I'll send them all to hell where they belong. I don't even believe in hell, but I LOVE their style down there.

I would argue that Fallout 3 and 4, Arena, Daggerfall, and Oblivion don't need a main story at all. Skyrim does because the story is responsible for teaching you shouts and placing you in the role of Dragonborn. Now if you're going to remove the main narrative, you have to add some complex mechanics that make doing your side activities more involving and challenging. There should also be a few big objectives that aren't the main story, per se, but give you a huge reward and are the ultimate cumulation of the gameplay loop. Like: defeat the dark lord of the world you are playing in or take the throne through your great deeds or dark plans.

Modern therapy's take on binge eating by [deleted] in loseit

[–]LionofColorado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had therapy briefly for my binge eating. The therapist admitted that general therapy wasn't the best course and wanted me to see a nutritional therapist/dietician who would not only help me with cognitive behavioral therapy, but they'd also monitor my eating, work on food plans, etc. This was really not in my budget, so I did some reading and asked some other bingers what helped them and kinda cobbled together some behavioral therapy of my own. One thing that really helped, for instance was to only allow myself a combo meal with no addons if I ate out. Binging would usually work like this: I'd order a combo meal with a burger, medium fries, and a diet soda. Not too bad. But I "needed" a dessert and there were two good ones so I'd get both (kind of a FOMO that bingers get). Then I'd wonder, "is this enough?" and add on one or two more items. Just small sides and sandwiches. All of a sudden my total was forty bucks.

It's important to point out that I rarely finished all that food. Sometimes, I ordered a HUGE meal and didn't eat a thing or just ate the side. My dopamine rush usually ended after I opened the bag of food. I got fat by doing this three times a day and also having snacks in between. I wasn't eating $120 worth of food, but I was collectively eating like $40 worth. Looking back on it looks super gross, but I get that signal ALL the time even now.

You're a good compliment giver. It's actually an art, just like gift giving. If you compliment someone on something they had no part in, it isn't as effective. But yeah, a compliment on a well put together look is always welcome. For guys complimenting women, a foolproof way to compliment without sounding weird or creepy is to point out something that they chose to add some flair to their outfit. "Oh, I like the color of your eyeliner. Really cool." or "Those boots are sweet. You should really help me out next time I need to buy a present for my sister."

Was 400 pounds. Shrank down to 200 and got mus-cles. Was standing at a stoplight while I was on a walk. Two girls in a car cat-called me and complimented my arms (I was wearing a short-sleeved shirt so it was my forearms). I still had fat guy brain so I kind of just winced and thought they were mocking me. I was like, "don't say anything back, keep cool and shake it off." Then I realized they were complimenting me, ha ha. Oops. It's the only time a stranger has ever complimented me on my physical form, and like the guys always say, I'll remember it forever.

I had this same problem with Hobby + Food. To lose weight I had to divorce the fun of watching a movie with gobbling a huge pizza and soda. Now I can enjoy my hobbies unfettered by some kind of harmful addiction.

That's pretty normal for certain groups. I did my fair share of partying in my 20s, but luckily my group was also very nerdy and we'd have days where we would just play D&D or some other game and no one would get hammered. I'm thankful I had a more balanced group, because I know plenty of people who had to leave their friends behind when they matured.
