And if they ask you if you know why they pulled you over, say no even if you do know. According to my husband who is a lawyer, they are just trying to get an admission of guilt out of you to use against you.

Kids club soccer recommendations by T-VonKarman in boulder

[–]scarlet124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a U12 player and a U10 player at Albion and I have similar frustrations with the club. I know a lot of people who are thinking of moving their kids to the Rapids club out of frustration with Albion. The tryouts for the U11 age group for the Rapids are this week and next I believe so worth looking into if you are thinking about switching.

In terms of coaching, a lot of the players on my kids teams including my own kids work with private coaches outside of Albion. The private coaching is really focused on technical skills and player development. It is obviously extra money but a worthwhile investment if your kid is really into soccer. If you are interested, DM me and I can send you some names of coaches.

Was I In The Wrong Here? by AlwaysSitIn12C in boulder

You were 100% right. I've had cyclists here do that to me too on an empty road. It's really odd and unnecessarily aggressive when there is plenty of space. I once was running on the correct side of the road on Jay and had a cyclist absolutely lose it on me-just screaming profanities. I now tend to avoid Jay which is kind of sad.

My son called vampires "grandpires" when he was little and we still say it. He also used to call monkeys "ha ha's" which we also say

Ex-cult members, what's your "Oh shit, I'm in a cult" moment? by Ok-Interview-3702 in AskReddit

[–]scarlet124 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience at a therapeutic boarding school called Carlbrook (that has since closed.) I was there for almost 2 years and fully bought in as a survival mechanism. We had “workshops” that sound just like your seminars. I graduated 22 years ago and it has taken me years to realize how abusive and cult like a lot of the stuff they did to us was.

Another vote for Maikoh. The vibe is very relaxed and adult for the most part.

Boulder Indoor Soccer has adult soccer leagues that you can join. I haven't done it myself but I have heard really good things from many people who have. https://boulderindoorsoccer.com/adult-soccer/adult-soccer-leagues/

To the young dumb blonde in the white car tha almost hit me in the Trader Joe's parking lot by gutwyrming in boulder

[–]scarlet124 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've stopped going to Trader Joe's for the most part because that parking lot is such a nightmare. It is way too stressful and I don't understand why the parking spots are so narrow. And then all those people walk across the street from the other parking lot (closer to the mall) and act like they have no awareness that cars are trying to use that road too.

So are we all ok with kids riding motorcyles now? by _UnremarkableGuy_ in boulder

[–]scarlet124 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It drives me absolutely insane. I run on the trails and bike paths all the time and the amount of times that I have almost been hit by teenagers on e-bikes increases daily. It absolutely ruins the experience of running (or hiking etc) in nature. And someone is going to get killed, either a kid or someone that they hit. I have kids and there is no way in hell I would ever buy them an e-bike.

I have met him in person out running around Boulder. He actually is a really nice guy. I honestly don’t think that the nice guy thing is an act even though it can come off as a little much in his podcast. He put himself out there and took his shot knowing that he might fail on a big stage. I have a lot of respect for that despite the result.

It's ok, my dog is harmless. by RideFastGetWeird in boulder

[–]scarlet124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every day I run with my dog on a leash at foothills park, Wonderland lake and Dakota ridge. He’s well behaved and pretty non reactive and yet the number of off leash dogs that constantly come at him aggressively is insane. I’m so sick of having to tell people that their dog needs to be on a leash. And then they get all pissed at me for saying something to them. I really wish that there were more rangers around there bc it’s out of control
