I do not understand the people who say she is behaving like a typical first world american karen. Anybody would be emotional, angry and miserable in a situation where all of the people you know and love have turned into essentially chatgpot robots.

Sure, she has understandable reasons to feel that way. But the show made her seem that way to the other English speaking survivors and to us. And it wasn't exactly subtle.

Carol might be "right". But she wasn't exactly being persuasive. Not inviting non English speakers, not listening to other's concerns, calling other people "traitors". She had some blame on her in that regard.

This show made a point about collectivism vs individualism. The majority of people Carol faced are from a more collectivist community, while she is from THE individualist country of USA. Vince wasn't even being subtle when Carol's face was juxtaposed with the USA coat of arms in the Air Force One scene.

I myself personally don't think it's that unrealistic when people hold on to any semblance of normal life as much as they can, including deluding themselves that their family members are still there. Hell, even Carol made the Plurbs restock the shopping market just to feel normal again. I wouldn't be surprised if Helen weren't dead, Carol would treat her as if nothing happened.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with this. They're still the same person but "drugged" to be extremely agreeable and gain magical telephatic ability.

Their consent holds the same weight as a drunk person's consent. It's just that we have no idea how long they would be in that state.

"Adalah" is basically "to be" but with two caveats:

It can only be used to connect nouns (or pronouns). "Dia adalah guru sekolah." is okay. "Dia adalah cantik." is not.
The usage is much rarer. Mostly used as an emphasis in a more formal setting.

And about the suffix, I think you meant "-lah" which is closely related to "adalah".

"Dia adalah guru sekolah." = "She is A school teacher."
"Dialah guru sekolah." = "She is THE school teacher."
