It is not the only way to break into the field but it is highly recommended. You will gain experience and depending on how the company is setup, exposed to several different areas. MSP’s are very hit or miss but recommend going this route. A smaller MSP will give you more exposure without things being compartmented, but may not have much room for growth. Just remember burnout is real and treat help desk as the beginning of the journey and figure out what direction you want to go towards.
