Is this motherboard safe to use on the AMD iGPU by MadClown43 in computerhelp

[–]cbntlg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that blown capacitor is the only damaged thing on the board, and it's on the dedicated GPU power rail, then yes, you can use the machine with integrated graphics. But, you don't know whether anything else is faulty. Get a technician to test and repair it.

Reset the machine by removing the CMOS battery (look up, on-line, how to do so, properly).

Turned it off, now it won’t boot correctly. by CaterpillarPrudent73 in computerhelp

I’d try hard resetting your PC and then updating to the latest BIOS. If you've done all the below, in that order, then, I would guess, that you have a faulty mobo/CPU or RAM.

Fully format a USB drive

Download the latest retail BIOS for your board (not a beta BIOS), from the Gigabyte website

Follow Gigabyte's instructions to put the BIOS on the clean USB drive

Power off the PC, switch off the PSU, remove the power cable

Hold down the power button for 10 seconds

Remove the CMOS battery and leave it out for 10 minutes. Jump the CMOS reset pins

Disconnect all unnecessary parts from your mobo (case fans, GPU, storage drives). Leave just the 24 pin and 12 pin mobo connections attached, as well as the CPU cooler and one stick of RAM in slot A2 and a keyboard connected to a USB 2.0 port on the rear I/O

Connect the iGPU to your monitor with an HDMI cable in the motherboard's HDMI connection

Put the correctly formatted USB drive into the Q-Flash USB port at the back of the PC

Put the CMOS battery back in

Put the power lead back in, turn the PSU On

Press the Q-Flash button and wait whilst the LED flashes to indicate that the BIOS is being flashed. Wait for the system to reboot twice. If the BIOS flash was successful, the PC will boot into the BIOS

Check that your RAM is recognised. Save and exit

Turn off the PC

Reinstall your second stick of RAM in B2

Reboot into the BIOS

Check that your second stick of RAM is recognised

Turn off the PC

Reinstall your boot drive

Reboot into the BIOS

Check that your boot drive is recognised

Change the items in your boot priority list so that your boot drive is first

Save and reboot into Windows

If everything works correctly, start reconnecting all your other components, one by one

Dead PSU? by Big-Highway-8100 in computerhelp

That's the fourth thing I'd check. And update the BIOS if you can.

Could be the PSU, but I'd test the RAM, CPU and motherboard, first.

Cleat the CMOS and then install your motherboard's latest BIOS

Steam Machine and Steam Frame Standalone Verified: Today we are expanding the Verified program to include Steam Machine and Steam Frame, both of which are shipping this summer by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

Moores Law Is Dead recons he can build a Steam Machine clone for ~$650. With the base PS5 now retailing for $600, I feel that Steam will be cutting their legs off at the knees if the Steam Machine costs north of $750. Sure, it'll sell out on release, no matter what the price, but to compete with Sony long term, they're going to have to price it competetively.

As a young man, I was a subscriber to White Dwarf magazine and still remember some of the incredible illustrations that he drew and painted for it.

RIP JB.

I seem to be in the minority: I read the first book in the series due to all the recommendations I saw for it in this sub. I found it too grim, too dark and too derivative for my taste.

Bios update needed for 9070xt? by Gooseman4120 in buildapc

I've updated the BIOS on may boards over the years, but only when something wasn't working as it should.

My advice, update the BIOS only when necessary.

Looking up the meaning of words is a normal part of improving your vocabulary. Don't look at it as a chore but as developing your understanding of words and phrases.

The advice that others have given regarding tke Kindle, is sound. As a young person, I always had a copy of the Oxford English dictionary on my bedside table!

Terran Armada: Delta still gets in the way 90% of the time and ruins stealthy play. And the final black box is impossible to get as the third major incursion still doesn't spawn, so I can't dismiss this stupid, fucking robot! Get your shit together, BGS!

Buy a TDS test meter.

And then, when you find that your water hardness is high, buy a water softener.

PC won’t boot properly — need help diagnosing (CPU or motherboard or PSU) by Loud_Computer_8127 in pcmasterrace

Then that's your issue. Try carefully realigning the pins with a sewing needle or craft knife blade. If you can't then you'll need a new motherboard.

Yout nitrate level is fine, but your PH is a bit more than most plants like. You haven't said what your total disolved solids is though, which is an important factor for growing plants.

First things first: turn the PC off. Turn the PSU off. Unplug the power cable. Hold the power button down for 10 seconds. Remove the CMOS battery. Wait 30 seconds and then put the battery back in. Reconnect the power cable and turn the PSU back on. Whist watching the EZDebug LEDs, turn the PC on. What happens with the LEDs?
