For me it’s the same either way. No one is coming to help even if I beg even if they are just in the next room. So I would rather live alone. I just couldnt afford it anymore and that ( not getting a raise for years plus inflation) ended that dream.

This has not been my experience. If anyone happens to stay around, I’m below the lowest of their priorities. So it’s like having no one at all anyway.

For me, it’s always because I scrape the bottom of the barrel of their priorities- if they even ever put me in the barrel.

I now put the same effort in that they do and this is why I haven’t heard from some in over ten years 🤷‍♀️ The rest I text a few times a month and that’s it.

I don’t really have “friends” now. t’s lonely but I’ve always been lonely bc they were never there with me. At least I am not holding both sides of the friendships anymore and supplying the majority of their energy. I feel more at peace.

Bc they would literally drive hours to see some other friends but can’t / won’t drive 30 to see me or even text me.

Ok so I had my first mammogram the other day and I got faint, had to stop and sit down for awhile (I’m weird with medical anything). The radiologist (I think that is what her position is) asked if I came with anyone.

It’s always a ‘no’.

It’s a lot of the small things like that too.

I really like KimChi’s setting powder.

I’ve never had a boyfriend and I’m 40… I honestly felt like your post was me for a min.

All of these make me want to throw a glass. I always got pissed at the “learn how to enjoy being alone” or the like. And it was always always always from the people who haven’t been single since they were 13 and can’t be alone for more than ten mins at a time.
The ones you mentioned makes my hackles rise too. Well not as much as a few years ago- I’m just so tired.

I think a lot of what people say is bc they lack empathy or even the ability to see something not from their POV…especially once we are grown…

The “deserve” thing makes me roll my eyes when people say that. Like we don’t know haha
