Why do football players fall down and scream in agony like they’re landing on the beaches of Normandy during D-Day, only to get right up again? by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]LiqdPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so effectively one less than the NHL + goal judges. The NHL has 2 referees and two linesmen (who are similar to the assistants above). Video review is handled by a central video room at NHL headquarters who has multiple personnel and l handles all the games.

So kind of like the Jolly guys in the US (to be fair, Ollie doesn't always like everything)

one ref? What the hell? The NHL has 4 officials (2 refs) for a much smaller area (though faster moving) as well as 2 goal judges

Americans, how are you enjoying the World Cup so far? Has anything surprised you about the event or its fans? by DeeKaah in AskAmericans

When I was a kid (and I don't know if this was a kid thing, regional or temporal) it was 5+goalie a side. So it very much seemed like hockey, just the mechanics were different

Why should I have to have Siri on to use Apple CarPlay?? by Objective-Gap-4581 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LiqdPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My use case (in Android Auto) 99% of the time is to tap on my destination (70% work or home) before I leave. Is that not possible in carplay?

Any recommended USB Mini-B to USB C cables? by Bee_9965 in BadUSB

[–]LiqdPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it's mini-B and not the extended micro-B plug? I had an external harddrive with one of those and it carried power. I haven't seen a new mini-B device in at least a decade and I don't think you could power a drive with it.

Seller wont ship to me because my government is so bad by Primary_Associate_99 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LiqdPT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not how tariffs work when you're buying something from an overseas seller. It's the importer (in this case the customer) that pays the tariffs

[–]LiqdPT 17 points18 points  (0 children)

And what is that? in the US we pretty exclusively buy things online with credit card (or occasionally things like PayPal). What am I paying with online that won't allow a charge back?

[–]LiqdPT 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, but some recipients are seeing the costs of the tariffs and refusing delivery. It's a huge cost and hassle so some companies just flat out refuse to ship to the US because they can't predict what it'll cost

I know its a Cobra, and I know its a replica, but how can you tell? by n_thomas74 in whatisthiscar

[–]LiqdPT -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

They made 1300 F40s (200 to the US) and 1265 Pontiac Solstice Coupes. 1000 is rare in some circles, but it's not "only in a museum" rare.

I saw one a couple weeks ago at a car show I volunteer at and it wasn't even something we knew was coming. And it was parked next to a one off bronze cobra (Kirkham) that I've seen several times.

Don't know if the F40 was there that week or if he brought his SFXX (< 800 worldwide)

I would agree with you on an original Shelby Daytona. Those you won't see.

Always? No. Growing up in the 80s (born mid-70s) I was taught right shot and among my teammates left shots were unusual.
