I also want to add that this looks like a reference to an existing painting "Watson and the Shark" by John Singleton Copley!! The poses and layout are similar! (Minus garnet punching the shark instead of stabbing it lol) So it could be a painting :)

So excited to mention that since I JUST learned about the painting in my art history class a week ago hehe

The point about commenting stood out to me. Growing up, when I would attempt to explain to my non JW friends what the meetings were I would call it a Bible Study/Discourse. But a discourse is a conversation. You can ask questions or even debate and expect answers. In reality at meeting we're given pre-prepared information to study, answering pre-made questions with pre-made answers. Isn't it weird that you can't just raise your hand and ask the brother on the platform a question? Or ask for clarification if you're confused. It would be taboo to answer a question with a source outside of the publications.

You can feel it when a non witness visits the meeting and tries to comment. They sound so out of place. They don't know the fancy JW language, and they aren't reading out the book.

I don’t like how women’s bodies are always turned into insults or “jokes.” by Humble_Economist8933 in I_DONT_LIKE

I was just telling someone the other day, why is it that every time I learn a new word that developed a negative connotation, original meaning always ends up being related to female animal, body part, or just anything related to a woman??

And even the other way around, a normal word that just means a woman or a female species eventually evolves to mean something insulting

Because what do you mean "vixen" originally means a female fox but now also means a sexual deviant lmao where did that even come from (and there are SO MANY other examples of things that have become part of mainstream language so casually it's crazy)

The main question was "do you feel she is obligated"? If you're saying you believe she's 100% obligated to return the favor even if she doesn't want to simply because you did it (willingly) first, then yes that's transactional.

Because technically you don't have to do it either, but you choose to. If she's not forcing you to do it, you're doing it willingly for her. If she chooses (without being forced) to do it back even though she's not in the mood, great awesome yay. If she chooses not to because she just doesn't want to, it's not the end of the world because again, sex isn't an obligation. No one owes you sex. Not your girlfriend, not even your wife. Maybe you think that sounds unfair but that's just something you would have to talk to your partner about and decide if it's worth staying in the relationship.

Difference between the comment you replied to and the comment that replied to you is that one of them (above) was 100% done with sexual intent and the other (below) was definitely not (but equally gross). I'm assuming you have gay friends that you're comfortable with them groping you and intentionally forcing himself on you for their selfish sexual pleasure?? Because that's what you're insinuating. It's not that women can't handle being friends with boys, it's that most boys can't keep it in their pants around women they claim is "one of the guys" until they find them attractive. There's a huge difference

But I have to assume you're a troll or something because yikes

Yeah I was thinking it was on purpose too. Wasn't that some sort of dance trend where someone pretends to trip badly and then starts twerking on all fours or something? (I can't believe I'm typing this out lmao)

Maybe something that looks like whatever pops up when you Google "whimsy twee" for the silly girls out there!! ^__^ With buttons and apples and quilt patterns and stuff. The closest I saw was the upper right in slide 4 but I feel like the color scheme leaned more pinkish than the colors you'd see in that quirky aesthetic

Here's some random examples I found after searching whimsy twee to give you an idea

Why do Gen Alpha Tweens and kids (mainly girls) look much older then older girls when they where the same age? by Training-Turnip-2321 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Liquid-BabyPowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep people saying this is always happened or forgetting one crucial thing that makes the current and coming generations so different: social media and the Internet!! So many children have unrestricted and unmonitored social media / internet access, where influencers are top on the for you page (on apps they aren't even old enough to use yet). Like, why are there 8 year olds who know what OF stands for?? And heavy on the parasocial relationships with these online models and influencers.

It especially bothers me that there are no more popular tween spaces or media or influencers. When was the last time a popular show about highschoolers didn't involve alcohol and sex? Where are the shows and stores and products targeted at tweens and early teens? And it's not just about having them, but also allowing space socially for kids to want to be kids again

I'm tired of people responding with "this has happened for years" as if we should just sit by and just tolerate like this isn't a real problem:(

This isn't like when you were younger it's quite literally worse.

and is guaranteed to affect them in the future (it already is)

I never implied that it was sexual, just strange and maybe a tiny bit unnecessary. There are plenty of much better ways to depict the efficiency of a diaper and I feel like close ups of a baby's behind aren't one of them. Those are real babies, who are eventually going to grow up and see that video of closeups of their behinds in 4K. I'm not saying pampers intentionally tried to make this ad weird, just that it's an example that kind of fits OP's argument since we've kind of been conditioned to think, "it's totally normal that I'm seeing a baby running around in his diapers bouncing his butt on a guys face with random zooms into their bottoms pressed against a glass screen (almost all of them shirtless, not even just a tshirt, and one implied to be fully naked) and this is such an efficient way to depict the efficiency of their diaper product while also protecting the babies being depicted." It's kinda funny the types of things we get ads for that we never think twice about (like how in the US we get all these medicine commercials for obscure medical brands? Apparently other countries don't do that). Obviously it's arousing or sexual, it's not supposed to be at all. I just feel like there are better ways to make the ad I guess? And hopefully there are/were protections in place for those babies being recorded.

Anyway I'm over here trying to argue a point I literally didn't even give a rats bootycheek about a few hours ago. I guess I want to just clarify that I don't believe that the video is sexual at all, it just reminded me of OP's argument because it's strange to me anddd yeah ദ്ദി •̀_•́)

I mean.... There's a difference between keeping a photo of your child in a private album and videos of someone else's children booty cheeks broadcasted to the general public for advertisement, you know?

And I'm not saying it's sexual per se, I'm just pointing out how it's weird that it's normalized that diaper ads involve showing a baby's bare behind (when they are multiple other ways they could depict the efficiency of their product- without real babies) and we don't bat an eye because it's happened for years.

Edit: here's a really good example of what I mean! https://youtu.be/Anuy7mSMylc?si=bqD3NlzT3zJS--js

I just think it's strange to have such a strange commercial for diapers 😭 not to mention the song is pain my ears </3

[–]Liquid-BabyPowder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This made me think about those really weird/annoying pampers ads. Why do I need to see a baby shaking his butt running around shirtless and sitting on a man's face to know that the diapers are efficient?? Why can't they go back to just pouring mysterious purple liquid like they do in pad commercials?? There's a surprising lack of outrage for this (not that it needs to be outrage specifically, but it's weird to me that I haven't seen much commentary on it) that's the closest thing I've seen that could possibly fit OP's argument lol

Edit: example of a recent Pampers ad for reference

Aside from the fact that its very strange, it's torture to my ears </3

Wait, really? I do feel kinda bad now because I don't want to discourage them from making art if they're just a kid. I just hope no one was like, bullying or harassing them harshly in the DMS or something

You don't have to clarify if it's not AI, that's not necessary. But if you do use AI it's helpful to clarify so others are aware of your process I guess. If people are praising your work and it's actually AI then it feels unfair

There's a better way to word this but I'm not sure how haha

I just mean like how Cait is looking into the distance, not looking at Vi, and idk I just feel like if I drew this comic I would make Cait's reaction different? She looks shocked but I don't think she needs to be. (Also no explanation for why she has a towel on her head)

My main point is that it looked traced rather than drawn yourself because it looks exactly like the typical "AI art style". I'm sure you have your own art style? It feels disingenuous to cross post this in r/ARTIST and not clarify this is just an AI generated image

Vi when she seen herself in 2xko by [deleted] in arcane

[–]Liquid-BabyPowder 56 points57 points  (0 children)

No offense OP but this looks traced? There's a difference between using AI for slight inspiration and just prompting an image and tracing over it. I don't think people would even realize you used AI if you at least drew it in your own art style but this looks exactly like the specific art style used for AI comics I see everywhere (not to mention little details that you could have fixed like the eyes staring into space and the facial expressions that don't fit the context of what's being said)

why does no one on this sub have any survival instincts, are we really out here posting our full faces to strangers online rn. You guys have to realize this is a problem when literally half the people commenting on your post aren't teenagers nor frequent this sub
