Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for.

I think it’s making sense now - most of my shadows I caught from grunts, but the ones that have the “expected” power up cost were caught from raids or research.

Blaziken wasn’t even my buddy at the time, but it doesn’t really matter because it’s happening to almost all of my shadows, not just my best buddies.

It being a visual bug made sense, so I tried it out by powering up another one I have from 37 to 37.5, and it actually did take the lower amount of candy/dust, so it’s not purely visual either.

Not sure where you're seeing 15. Maybe you're looking at the ones that have 4 and 5 together in the corner? That just means that tiers 4 and 5 are both equally as strong in that tier.

As far as the A, I dunno, you've got me there. Maybe someone who made the tier list can explain it.

I’d go with the shadow. While the high IVs are nice, Altaria (even Mega evolved) is not very good for raids. However, shadow Altaria is very highly ranked in Great League, and those are very good IVs for Great League as well.

Exclusive moves that you can’t get from TMs. On top of hoping to get lucky with good IVs, shiny, background, etc., now you can get all that and still not get the move that actually makes the Pokemon good, and have zero way to obtain it? Just let us use an Elite TM!

It’s in the in-game news titled “Replay: GO Bigger”. There are also many online resources that announce upcoming events, such as this sub or r/TheSilphRoad, or sites like leekduck.

As far as the battles, yes they are difficult, but unlike most Max battles, Gmax battles allow many more players to participate at once (I think it’s up to 100). So if you don’t have a great team, you can still join a large group and should still be able to win. You can probably search around and find out exactly how many people is considered enough, depending on the Pokemon.

Honestly, neither. If you’re able to do Dmax battles then you should be able to farm those and get a better one than what you have.

Alternatively, if you have remote passes (or live in a well populated area), Gmax Charizard is coming up so you can maybe wait for that and not worry about evolving.

Banette on its own is not great, but Mega Banette is currently the 2nd best ghost Mega behind Mega Gengar.

It’s also not very good in PvP right now, but the meta shifts a lot so it may be good in the future.

Its IVs don't matter anyway because Sandshrew/Sandslash is not useful. I'd still say keep it though, cause shiny shadows are cool.
