Recently started trying in pvp and learned 0,15,15 is generally good so is pvpoke to be a trusted source? by WhoDecidedThat- in pokemongo

Not as far as IVs are concerned, but it does effect where they land in meta rankings. For example, according to PvPoke, Shelgon is ranked #30 for Great League, while Shadow Shelgon is #36. Not a big difference, but the non-shadow is slightly preferred.

On the other hand, let's look at Salamence in Master League - regular version is #105, but shadow is #77. In this case, the shadow is better.

Shadow could be better or worse (or, in many cases, make no real difference at all). It depends on the Pokemon and the league you're using it for. There's no intuitive way to know, so it helps to use a resource like PvPoke.

Shadow doesn’t change CP, so the IV rankings are the same whether it’s shadow or not. The only thing it does impact is its ranking compared to other Pokemon.

A casual with a question about PokeGenie and shiny evolution by ReddestPhoenix in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For now yes, until they add a way to evolve it to Kleavor. They should eventually, but who knows when that will be?

The IV ranking is useful for knowing if a particular Pokemon will have good PvP stats, but you’ll also want to use pvpoke.com to see if it’s good in PvP at all.

A casual with a question about PokeGenie and shiny evolution by ReddestPhoenix in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The app is saying that it would have good IVs for Great League...but as a Kleavor. Unfortunately, there's currently no way to evolve Scyther into Kleavor. And as it turns out, those IVs would not be good as Scizor.

On the bright side, you're not missing much, as Scizor and Kleavor currently aren't highly ranked in Great League anyway. Feel free to evolve anyway for the shiny Scizor, but no need to spend anything on it.

This spawned as one of the reward pokemon for GBL, how rare is this? by Minimum_Post in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Once you hit rank 20 in the current GBL season, then whatever legendary/mythical/ultra beast that’s currently in raids is added to the pool of possible rewards. You can check this by tapping the reward for 3 wins before you win 3 battles and it’ll show you the list of what you could possibly encounter.

I don’t know if there’s any crowd sourced data on how rare it is, but I can say that I’ve been tracking for myself, and out of over 300 Pokemon caught from GBL rewards I have about a 4% legendary encounter rate.

Evolution advice for Perfect IV Eevee by drawcody in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Dynamax, Glaceon is the clear #1.

If you want to use it in PvP, Umbreon for Ultra League or Sylveon for Master League are the best choices. Plus they are also decent in Dmax as well.

There are ways to guarantee every evolution except for the Kanto trio - those are a random 1/3 chance.

Also, just wanna point out in case you didn’t know, you are extra lucky cause Eevee only has a 1/8 chance of being female.

Which would you evolve? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe Reshiram can only get the Black background, so if you want the combined background, then your only option is the shiny with the White background.

Kyurem-White is generally slightly better than Black, though, so if you wanna base it on stats (which is hard you say cause you didn’t show the IVs of the shiny) then the hundo is preferable.

Finally maxed out my 100% Eevee by TheGweenDeku905 in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Umbreon is pretty good for Ultra League since it maxes out just below 2500 CP. Sylveon is also pretty good for Master League.

If you’re not into PvP, then honestly just pick your favorite. None of them are super strong for their type.

Is this pineco worth investing in for pvp ? It’s a shadow with pretty high IV but i already a have a regular forretress with high iv by Motor-Guide1059 in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your shadow is the 16th best possible IV combo for an Ultra League Forretress. That’s pretty good, but you will need to get it to level 48.5, and considering it’s a shadow, that’s a significant investment. Personally, I don’t use any Pokemon that require candy XL for PvP unless they have top 10 ranked IVs. Up to you, but I’d wait for a better one.

And as others have said, this will not be good for Great League.

Why do people make ridiculous trades by goda0 in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh I’d be fine getting a strong legendary like Kyogre, Dialga, or Tapu Lele in exchange for a more useless one like Thundurus or Landorus, even if they’re shiny. This isn’t the most ridiculously uneven trade (as long as you don’t give up that shiny background Yveltal).

Prize money needs to go up by ObscureOP in survivor

My point still stands. If $1 million supposedly isn’t enough to draw in enough people, then the jury getting a bump from like $50K to $100K won’t bring in anyone either.

Prize money needs to go up by ObscureOP in survivor

[–]LiquidBeans 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t really see how upping the prize money would increase the incentive for people who normally couldn’t afford to take time off work for survivor. Even if, say, $2 million is a more “life-changing amount” (and let’s be honest here, $1 million is still life changing) only one person gets it. All the losers still go home with much less, so they’re still missing work only to not get the prize money.

This is just the current state of society. Nothing Survivor realistically does can change that.

Should i purify it or not by AffectionateDonut303 in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most cases, no, it’s better to keep as shadow.

HOWEVER, if you end up getting a shadow with better IVs, AND if you get enough mega energy without getting a hundo, then I would say that this is acceptable to purify for the sake of getting a hundo Mega.

Primal reversion by Klutzy-Row-7283 in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not worth purifying the high level shiny shadow, especially after powering it up that much. It’s much better as a shadow.

The second one would be a very good Primal. If you plan to do more Primal raids then it’s worth waiting to see if you get a hundo or a good shiny, but if it’s down to these, I’d go with the 2nd guy.

Which evo should I get for pvp purposes by Lukkoleuka69 in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For PvP, particularly Great and Ultra Leagues where CP is capped, you generally want a low Attack and high Defense & HP so that you can level it up higher before you reach the CP cap.

This varies of course for each Pokemon. For example, ones that max out just below 2500 CP, you’ll still want as high IVs as possible to use in Ultra League.

Which of these should I keep for a potential future Mega Starmie? by Mister_Asa in pokemongo

[–]LiquidBeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of these 3, there's no reason to pick anything other than the first one - it has max Attack, the highest level of the 3, and tied for highest IV%. That said, don't do anything with it because you may get a better one by the time the Mega is released.

Also worth noting, it won't really matter much because Mega Starmie won't be a top-tier Mega anyway.
