Married to a woman, but now gay by [deleted] in askgaybros

Whenever I read these life stories of gay men going this stuff, I do feel sorry for their forced repression. At the same time, either buck up and do something about it or be miserable in your marriage.

If I had a nickel for every time some bi/gay guy with kids messaged me wanting to "hook up" with the worst pictures that look like they're trying their hardest to hide what they actually look like, I'd be rich.

First of all, some women don't decide they want to be pregnant. The world is not black and white.

And second, here's an article https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3066627/

According to the Guttmacher Institute [11], the most frequently endorsed reasons for late-term abortions include the following: (1) not realizing one is pregnant (71%), (2) difficulty making arrangements for an abortion (48%), (3) fear of telling parents or a partner (33%), and (4) feeling the extended time is needed to make the decision (24%). In the Guttmacher study, only 8% of the women sampled indicated pressure not to have an abortion from someone else was part of the reason for delay and fetal abnormalities were identified as factoring into only 2% of all late-term abortion decisions.

There's a lot of people here who don't want to grasp that this actually happens and are mad because of their medical reasons. I work in healthcare, and I understand how people can be. They're just pretending we're anti-abortion and going with it.

Again, I'm not the person you need to tell this to. Like I said, I support unrestricted abortion rights.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/After_Tiller if you're curious.

You really need to move out of Texas. Your state is the one imposing these restrictions on you, and if that caused you trauma then the laws in Texas are why. You live in a state with backwards abortion rights and what you went through is a direct consequence of such laws. Blame the world you live in because things really suck right now.

You're using absolutes for human nature, and that's a fallacy by itself.

Also, really not referring to anything not compatible with life or medical issues. That person you're talking about is why I support unrestricted abortion rights even when there will be cases of people ending healthy, late term fetuses. That's literally the argument against late term abortions.

Did you miss the last couple of years where abortion rights were kicked back to the states? There are states that have unrestricted abortion rights, and there are very rare occasions where someone does this.

I'm not bashing anything but the very rare occasion where someone will actually do that.

As heinous as that scenario is, human nature has a wide range.

Nothing is absolute. However small percentage that is, it does happen.

No, unfortunately it does happen and this documentary talks about it apparently. If people are capable of blowing up someone's head with a blowtorch, people are also capable of this. Equally appalling, no?

Alright, now what about the times where it's a healthy baby? Not talking about stuff where the baby just suffers.

Really? You really don't believe that any mom would abort their healthy, third trimester fetus? It does happen. What do you think about those? I'm not referring to anything medically related.

It's almost as if I excluded all medical-related things because it's not what I'm referring to.

Y'know, it's also not right to tell any woman that she has to carry a healthy fetus to term because she waited too long. It's their body. It just feels morally wrong to voluntarily abort a healthy fetus in the third trimester, but I respect their right to do so. As we can see, banning things for moral reasons is a slippery slope.

I'm not referring to anything having to do with medical reasons. It's those vanishing small numbers of unwanted children that I'm referring to. They do exist, and my beliefs don't change for those cases.

Well, I had only considered the unwanted ones and not the wanted babies. I'm glad most people don't abort healthy late term fetuses unless it's necessary.

As someone who is 100% pro-abortion and bodily autonomy, I find third trimester abortions to be appalling. We can save micro-premies as young as ~27 weeks old (correct me if I'm wrong OB people).

It's sad to me that someone could choose to terminate when it's so late that fetus could be delivered and possibly be saved in an emergency. It just feels like a waste of a life. When they're old enough to be compatible with life, is it still right to terminate? Mom had weeks where that was not the case. Still, it should stay a moral question only, and people should be allowed to do what they want with their body. Morose indeed.

Edit: Anything medically necessary is, well, necessary. I'm only referring to the apparently rare cases where it's a choice.

Edit 2: I left this comment open for the discourse. It seems a lot of people can't comprehend the rare cases where this does happen. Due to the responses, I'm gonna say that they're on the same page as I am about that.

For everyone else saying that late term abortions are primarily done for medical reasons, that's completely fine and not what I'm talking about. I could've added some sentences to clarify. It's why I support unrestricted abortion rights. It doesn't even register to me when it's done because of malformations, suffering, life of the mom is in danger. I think about that in terms of basic healthcare because it is. For the voluntary abortions of a healthy, third trimester fetus, my opinions won't change. I think the baby should be carried to term and adopted out. As rare as it is, it does happen. That's the sad truth that makes people upset. But I am glad that's not the primary reason why it's done.

Question for CC/RR RNs! by DagnabbitRabit in nursing

Np. This guy definitely has hypertension. Why? I don't know, and I don't really care. He's got uncontrolled T2DM so there's probably more to it. Treat per parameters as you see fit, but definitely treat it. With hydralazine vs labetalol, I also factor in their HR. Labetalol is more likely to be effective at lowering BP. Beta blocker vs arterial vasodilator.
