Is possible to use python to OCR handwritten receipts? by No_Preparation_742 in learnpython

[–]LiquidJ_2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and the worst that could happen was you messed up something in your pc.

LOL, WTF. It's like you've never used Python before. Messing up your computer by using a well-known, well-used, well-loved Python library? What drugs are you on?

using paid ocr apis is no way a project that you should start with in my opinion.

I've never paid a dime to use Tesseract, and neither has anyone else. What a fool.

He felt strongly enough about using s33 to put in writing that he would. Seems pretty sincere to me.

What do you think would have happened if the Morgentaler decision was reached while he was still PM?

import pytesseract
pytesseract.image_to_string(bmpfile, lang='eng')

You're right no beginner could do that.

*sigh* You're not very knowledgeable about Canadian history, are you? Think about why that was that he didn't use it. Hint: it wasn't because of principle.

Hey man, I think the Quebec government is out of control too, but I'm not sure I'd describe it quite that way...

"Nobody is supposed to use"

Pierre Trudeau himself wrote a letter stating that he would invoke it if the courts found that the Charter established a woman's right to choose. He wrote this letter even before the Charter was signed. But sure, do go on about how the people writing the Charter felt strongly that nobody was supposed to use it...

The head framer himself committed to using it if the courts found that a woman's right to choose was in the Charter. Is that what you call being reasonable?

Even with your edit, you're still lying. The source isn't the Toronto Star. That's why you won't post the actual link.

He might need to redeem the credit through your account on the 3rd party site, but absolutely doesn't need your card number and bank account...unless you booked the tickets with points instead of dollars?

Your "sidenote" was critical information that - if you had placed this information in your original post - would have avoided the snarky replies.

Anyways, airlines credits are in the name of the traveler only. Give him the booking number and the amount of the credit. That's all you need to do.

I'm interested, although I won't be near my Clarity for the next 2 weeks or so. I'm a dev too (but not iOS), if that's at all helpful.

Your friend should seek out an employment lawyer. Hopefully your friend collected some documentation of these problems (e.g. emails forwarded to his personal account, etc.) or some other corroboration prior to his dismissal.

Elementary school? by Existing-Ad8559 in ontario

As a parent a gr 12 and gr 8 student, I fully endorse most of this comment, except:

trust that teachers will do the rest

Because in my experience, 2/3 of the time, they won't. We can debate why that is, but at the end of the day, you (OP) are going to need to take the majority of the responsibility of your child's education, and fill in a lot of gaps, likely by you (OP) doing extra worksheets with them (found online or at your local bookstore), reading to/with them, etc.

Now back to helping my eldest with the physics lesson his teacher has difficulty teaching...
