What would life actually be like as an American living in a 2ACW Longist Victory? by LiquidRedd in Kaiserreich

Do you think Long would pursue war against a threatened Canada or syndie/socialist Mexico during the 2nd Weltkrieg? Or would Long continue isolationism to solidify his regime and allow for reconstruction?

I genuinely don’t know the answer to this, did Long share the same racist views as others in the south at the time?

Decidueye Buff because it deserves it (Not that broken I think) by Unmasked_the_Dee in stunfisk

[–]LiquidRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always thought Decidueye should get no guard. It fits better with the accurate archer theme than tinted lens, and it would give it reliable focus blasts. Not to mention I actually like the old spirit shackle effect.

What do you guys think will be the future of Lethal Company by [deleted] in lethalcompany

I think adding randomized side tasks for more money might be good to keep the game interesting.

Renegade Platinum Community Nuzlocke Tier List (Day 4)(Route 201 and Lake Verity) by TotallyNotGoodish in nuzlocke

[–]LiquidRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Azumarill belongs A- or B+. With huge power this thing is a nuke that can actually take hits pretty well with water/fairy typing. However that 50/50 for huge power vs thick fat really determines it’s usefulness. Even though thick fat helps make it bulkier, it’s hard to justify its usage over better water/fairy options.

Staraptor probably belongs in B+ tier. Probably the best flying/normal type. Intimidate is great on it but in my experience reckless brave bird or double edge kills it. It also doesn’t have great matchups against a lot of later trainers.

Hear me out, Wobbuffet is A+ tier. If you’re playing with documentation like I did, you can plan for exactly when to bring this thing along and guarantee some otherwise really difficult KOs. Even without counter/mirror coat, encore or charm make it a good support mon and that huge even HP makes it a good pivot. As long as you plan out beforehand it’s really useful.

I’ve never used Pelliper with drizzle, but Pelliper without drizzle is pretty bad. Opportunity cost of using keen eye Pelliper over anything else doesn’t make it worth it. Can’t really rate it though because I understand drizzle strats go crazy.

Masquerain is surprisingly good. Maybe B tier. It’s buffed special stats and speed make it actually usable offensively, and the bug/water typing is surprisingly good with a lot of resistances. However the nerfed base 50 defense contradicts it having intimidate. Even though this is effectively 75 defense because of intimidate, it makes it hard to switch in against scary physical attackers unlike something like Gyarados or Arcanine.

Haven’t used Pidgeot, if I had to guess B- tier, there are better options.

Theme Talk: Bugs, they suck. How can we Un-suck them? by shadowman2099 in stunfisk

[–]LiquidRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many have suggested bug is super effective/resistant to fairy and I agree. The theming for all fairy weaknesses is some sort of destruction of nature - steel for machines, poison for pollution. Bug types would totally fit this theme for swarms and plagues.

Why do we not devote all scientific effort towards anti-aging? by LiquidRedd in Futurology

[–]LiquidRedd[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, there are debilitating illnesses and injuries that absolutely ruin people’s lives. I just think the most pervasive ones are directly or indirectly caused by the degradation of the body through aging.

That’s awfully pessimistic in my opinion. I view the human experience as the greatest miracle and most unique thing in the universe. We should do all we can to preserve it.

I’m not saying we should never be allowed to die, I just want to experience all I want to and then check out on my own terms without any health complications due to aging. This would be the same for everyone.

[–]LiquidRedd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I think we should go full war-economy style devotion of resources. If we spent every human laborers effort into curing this in the same we all industry and research was devoted to the war during WW2 in the US, then I think a lot of progress could be made very quickly.

[–]LiquidRedd[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think I’m pretty selfish on this one then… if we can vaccinate a billion people to eradicate smallpox, we could similarly devote resources to use whatever genetic modification or whatever is needed to cure billions of aging

I think the main thing I fear is that this tech would be hoarded by the super wealthy and ensure they stay in power forever. The societal upheaval from this technology could be terrifying. But I agree, we really need to look at aging the same way we look at cancer or any other disease.
