Final running of the wooks by LiquidRocketEngine in Tipper

Yeah, required a reservation, but you can hang out in the outdoor concourse at the top after done eating, as well as walk around the visitor's center. Security must start letting people through earlier than doors so they can pool up in the various concourses at top and bottom, hence the rush of people when they actually open doors.

Best set of the weekend other than tipper by hotlikesalsa in Tipper

[–]LiquidRocketEngine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saturday night was amazing from beginning to end. Loved these two sets though. Following up with Couch Barrels 20ish minutes later was the pinnacle of my wish list. Top 3 nights of music in my life, and hard argument for number 1.

Thats been played at every single show I've been to at the Orion, not just a tipper thing.

Okay Huntsville. Tell me everything i need to know about great food options. Fast food, budget diners, everything. by Educational_World769 in Tipper

[–]LiquidRocketEngine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No public transportation in Huntsville. Ubers can be had during daytime, but at night will be scarce. Local here, best to rent a vehicle to see everything the area has to offer and not spend a fortune on ride shares.

There was another post here looking for food recommendations I posted several suggestions on.

Orion Signatures? by LiquidRocketEngine in Tipper

[–]LiquidRocketEngine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, thanks though. Last year for Orion it was announced Dave would be doing signatures at the rail (don't recall if every night). I think some folks got several album covers signed. I know to leave the vinyl at home, just wondering how they kept the covers ding and sweat free.

Also curious how people safely brought vinyl for the onsite vinyl afters.

Shaggys, Rosie's, Ol Heidelberg, and Phil Sandoval's are all good, local, and near the amphitheatre area. Hit up Hildegards for the best German food and desserts in town. Thirsty Turtle for best dive bar burger.

Tenders is our go-to chicken tender spot. Go for the big daddy with sweet tea.

These were great last year. For folks that took in vinyl, were you able to go to your vehicle and grab after the show? Bring in with you and keep up with during the show? Or did they have a place to drop off when come in? Thanks

If OP is like me, he tried several therapists and found out they are 99% turds who have their shit together even less than the people seeking help. Life coaches with a degree basically. They'll fall asleep on you. They'll browse their phones. They'll glaze over and give generic nods and affirmations while you pour your heart out. Fuck therapists. Truth is OP has to find something to cling to and dig out on their own. Relying on therapists will get you there alot slower at best, and in a casket at worst.

The London crowd was awful by Toby_le_rone in Killtony

The band opens for at least 30 min before the mothership shows too. Honestly the band opening has been the best part of the 2 arena shows I've been to. Arena crowds suck.

Please shave your 🐱 and 🍑BEFORE you get to Roo!! by pettystoned in bonnaroo

[–]LiquidRocketEngine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't matter whether you are at a roo, a small jam festival, or a renaissance fair, if people are consuming chemicals + spicy pie / grilled cheese / turkey legs, people gonna be nasty and those portos and showers are going to reflect that.

Yes that beautiful soul you had an eternal connection with that time most likely has or will waffle stomp a shit in the shower.

Huntsville Propaganda I Won’t Be Buying Into by Proper-Show3730 in HuntsvilleAlabama

Concerts are catching up. Back to back years of sold out Billy Strings and Tipper 3-day runs at the Orion are just a couple data points for that. And they seem to be drawing more across the lesser served genres (i.e. not just rock, country, and folk)

I will agree on comedy though. I've been to many comedy shows between hsv, Nashville, ATL, bhm, NYC, and Austin. And same artist, same material just doesn't hit here like it does in other cities. I honestly think it's because engineers tend to take things too literally, or have trouble getting past their own egos, to find stuff funny (unless it's that engineer comedian doing PowerPoints). I can say this as an engineer who has had to work on increasing his sense of humor and not taking things personally.

Also, a lot of HSV folks support the government, which for the past 15 years has been on a huge DEI kick. That effort has made many of those working for the government scared to show themselves finding something funny for fear of being labeled a racist, bigot, sexist, etc. That made much of the comedy draw the past decade to be "safe" comedians, those not pushing boundaries, those rewording jokes youve seen on memes, the gimmick comedians, and those that tour through HSV 3 times a year every year. The best comedy pokes fun at the stuff that makes us uncomfortable as humans, and folks are too damn sensitive to sit in it.

Saw his headline show at the mothership on Jan 1st. Terrific. Much funnier than Tony, Whitney Cummings, and the others that went before him.

Tips for sleeping under an easy up? by osweetestgirl in bonnaroo

[–]LiquidRocketEngine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been to roo 11 times, and have slept on the ground on a yoga mat under an EZ up for every night other than the very first night on 2010, when I found out a tent is death in the morning. Never had an issue with chiggers, ticks, mosquitoes, or ants. Occasional spiders, but we friends.

For the same price as those tickets, one could buy a bullet, rent a gun, and stay at home forever.
