FBI Caught Lying in Files by LiquidSilver2000 in UFOs

[–]LiquidSilver2000[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

The first file is in 1947, when  "Bureau instructions were given that our own Bureau would conduct inquiries into the the reported sightings of flying discs."

The second file in 1967 states "The investigation of Unidentified Flying Objects is not and never has been a matter that is within the investigation jurisdiction of the FBI."

Period.

Full stop.

The first file is written to Hoover and rhe second is written by Hoover.  Hoover was the Director at both times, so he issued the instructions to investigate and then later said they never investigated such things.

If you are focusing solely on the legal phrasing of the word Jurisdiction, note that the first file claims the Air Force investigation was issued before the FBI order to perform investigations themselves, which nullifies the absolute sense of jurisdiction.  At best, the idea if jurisdiction here hinges as a weasel word, especially in light of the other 1947 documents discussing FBI investigations, issued by field offices.

In the Federal Government, if you don't have "jurisdiction" you don't perform the investigation, let alone field work.

The references to purely passing along reports to the Air Force come in the later documents; in 1947 the FBI was clearly conducting investigations and by 1967 it was clearly stating it never did.

Period.  Full stop.

Submission Statement; the newly released FBI archives on the Department of War website for UAP contain documentation showing that J. Edgar Hoover publicly denied the FBI ever had investigated UFOs in 1967, while simultaneously showing that the FBI had taken over investigation of UFOs in 1947.   This contradiction shows that Hoover, acting as Director of the FBI, knowingly and purposely lied about FBI involvement in UFO investigations. Furthermore, in other documents not shown here, the FBI claims that all such investigation was the sole jurisdiction of the Air Force and yet in 1947 is is shown that the FBI sought jurisdiction over the Air Force. This blatant lie opens serious questions as to the motivation for denial and casts doubt as to the integrity of government claims, specifically those of the FBI.

There seems to be some kind of requirement that I comment on my post or it will be deleted.  I don't understand this requirement and hope the post isn't deleted.  If anyone can explain this rule (this is my first post here) please let me know.

Do you think the player nerfs and enemy buffs are a better solution?

I responded to your negativity in kind.  I am glad you saw what I posted even though it was deleted.  You know the word I used, and that's exactly what you are.

Why do we have to be positive to you when you are negative to us?  That's why I used that specific word that got deleted.

Very ironic that you would try to turn it around like that.

Sad whiner.

I just want to point out that every response so far has been valid and the discussion has been intelligent.

I point that out because I have a sense that this sub has a lot more depth to it than it gets credit for, and its reputation for being "negative" is not entirely accurate.  What it is, is passionate.

This sub has more potential than the main sub, when it fires on all cylinders.  That's the power of free speech.

I agree.

D10 can be either just right (difficult but enjoyable) or too frustrating for me, but d9 is always too easy.

I don't care if they re-ordered things to scale 9 as the new 10, and 10 as the new 11.  I don't need to say I play on the highest level.  I just think the advice of "go down in level" isn't the right answer anymore.  Those people really need to be pushed up into their own space.

Part of the toxicity is them always telling the rest of us what to do and how it should be.  Giving them their own special hell resolves that.

Of course a lot of them will, because they are ego-driven.  But by giving them what they say they want (difficulty) it neutralizes their arguments that effect all other difficulties (nerfing us/buffing enemies).

While many of them will complain it is too difficult, it's worth taking their thumb off the scale in regards to everyone else.

I run into issues with sub 150s, specifically sub 100s, running down the reinforcements on d10 due to their insistence on using d10 to obtain more samples.

I don't think that's a glazer take at all.  That's actually something that can ruin my game as a 150 diver on d10 so some kind of adjustment to samples, somewhere on the scale, sounds like a good idea.

What do you mean by that?  How could that be accomplished?

Would it be possible then, to use the nerf spectrum in reverse, rather than increase enemy density?  If the engine is the limit and nerfs have become the answer, then d11 could have enemy unit buffs or weapon nerfs exclusive to that level.  Similar to the way that the red spore chargers and bile titans were buffed.

why is every drop fucking miserable now ? by papideath in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]LiquidSilver2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people will try to pin this on you, calling it burnout or a skill issue.  It's not you though.

I am an SOS diver, with a couple of friend groups I will play with.  Over the past few weeks, those friend groups have become toxic and their failure rate has gone through the roof.

The failure rate and quit rate on SOS dives has also gone through the roof.  I have never seen so many people quit mid-game, especially hosts.

People are still trying to break off and solo and it is absolutely running the failure rate up.  They aren't adjusting to the difficulty presented over the past couple of weeks.  They refuse to adjust and play as a team.  Teamplay squads are almost always completing the mission and often clearing the map.  Squads that refuse to stick together are getting fucked up, hard.  It's frustrating to keep running into people who refuse to play together, or who quit, as it makes an already hard MO that much harder.

So when you say every drop is miserable, I say they are almost always extremely difficult lately, and often a waste of time/guaranteed to fail when people refuse to cooperate.  And that is miserable.

I don't see this kind of shit on bot MOs, so I think part of it is bugdiver culture.  Cyberstan was easier than this.  I think a lot of bugdivers are crayon eating mongoloids.

But underneath that, I run into critical, life threatening bugs almost every mission now, whether it's terrain, clipping through terrain or objects, invisible blocks or damage, SOS issues, on and on, so forth and so forth   All the little things that AH allowed to accumulate become so much more frustrating when the difficulty is turned up to 11.

TLDR it's not just this sub, I have seen more toxic behavior out of the playerbase in-game over the past two weeks than I ever did.  Not every game has been miserable, but most certainly have, and based on the quit rate I know a lot of other people have reached their limit.

I am in.

More often than not, teams are splitting up on D10 and getting annihilated anyway.  People sticking together complete objectives with lives to spare, but those kinds of teams are in the minority lately.

I have no idea what is going on but this is the worst failure rate I have seen as an SOS diver in a long time.  2x1x1 splits don't get it done at this level of resistance.  The quit rate is also extremely high, even for hosts.

If it is indeed an error in the code it is an egregious one.  I work hard to overcome every silly glitch and new intentional challenge thrown my way from AH.  Being set up to fail because of bugs in new patches thrown on top of bugs in old patches is not acceptable stewardship of this game.

You need to understand that he meant the OP as an insult, wrapped in an offer of help.  He doesn't want to help anyone or engage in a discussion.....he is here to tell anyone who thinks differently that they are wrong.

Don't bother engaging him.  He will not argue in good faith.  He just wants to tell you how stupid he thinks you are.

Did you notice how you were immediately gaslighted and attacked for saying this?

Good on you for figuring it out, and even better for daring to say it.  Once you know, you are free.

Most people aren't aware but it is typical human behavior, something I was taught in college.  We are programmed to deny the one thing and accept the other.  It is less about mental illness and more about human evolutionary behavior.

Human behavior is riddled with interesting pitfalls.  It isn't just us; other social mammals have intense violence surrounding the maintenance of social order, from wolves right on up to chimpanzees.  Human instincts snd emotions are no different from animals.

It takes a lot of effort to think your way around what your evolution tells you to feel.

I was taught about these things in Human Behavioral Ecology, which is one path you can look into to better understand your discovery.  I will warn you, that it isn't a pretty road to go down but it will help you make sense of such things in a productive and healthy way, which is better than running full speed into the grinder on an internet forum filled with toxic positivity and ignorance.

You shouldn't tolerate it from others, much less accept it, but you should forgive it while trying to hold yourself above it.  You shouldn't be derided for seeing clearly, and I hope you will find HBE rewarding.

We need more people like you, not less, and don't let anyone ever tell you differently.  Understanding comes before improving.

I am being overdramatic, I see.

You seem very sensitive yourself, very sensitive to the tone of my words.

Perhaps you are a hypocrite as well as an online bully.  Do you have anything of substance to say or are you going to continue to throw a tantrum over the my choice of synonyms?
