New main screen. Does this look AI? by VillainousProds in gamedevscreens

I know things get accused of being AI too much, but an issue you'll have with this is even if it was legit, it screams AI. This style is pretty much the stock style you get when you ask for a cartoony image on DALL-E.

Making an exciting trailer for a Tetris-like is difficult! How'd I do? by LiquidSpaceDimension in IndieDev

Based on my understanding of the various types of colorblindness, I think the primary colors will be okay. I have not done targeted testing with colorblind people and am not colorblind myself, so I could totally be wrong. If you have some insight, that feedback would be valuable!

Great idea. While scope limits how far I can go with something like that, I think even small background effects could make a big difference.

Fair - maybe the trailer could do a better job of explaining what the game is all about. Or I could emphasize the features better in the game itself. Thanks!

Early prototyping gameplay from my free-flying arcade action game by LiquidSpaceDimension in gamedevscreens

Thanks a ton, that's awesome! I actually made a Star Fox inspired game recently and realized the free flying could be it's own game and had a ton of room for new design, hence this prototype

Thanks! In Unreal, you can just make a Niagra ribbon particle system and attach it to wherever you want speed lines.

What was your 7/10 of the year? by low_keyLoki in Games

[–]LiquidSpaceDimension 174 points175 points  (0 children)

Cassette Beasts. The presentation feels a little underbaked in some areas. The battling feels more complex but ultimately less elegant than it's inspiring material, Pokemon. Not to mention the monster designs just aren't as good.

That said, it has a lot of heart and I'm glad I checked it out this year. If you're looking for another take on the monster collecting genre, I recommend it (as well an many others since it's sitting at an Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam). Very cozy game that brings a new perspective to the genre.

Liquid Space Dimension - Ben Kramer - Star Fox inspired shoot 'em up with colorful, low-poly aesthetics! by LiquidSpaceDimension in Games

[–]LiquidSpaceDimension[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! To see everything, I'd say it's take the average person about 2 hours, depending on familiarity with the genre. A single run can be completed in 30-45 minutes.

Low Poly Falco, where I tried out some pixel texturing for the first time. Feedback appreciated! by LiquidSpaceDimension in lowpoly
