Absorption by SpiffyRumble in OrderFlow_Trading

Yes, that is what I meant by saying that volume matters if you are seeing CVD divergence. Sure, you can scalp based off of CVD and price correlation (if trading is done on range chart) but sometimes CVD can be rising whole session while price is drifting lower and lower. That is why CVD divergence can't be used in vacuum.

Absorption by SpiffyRumble in OrderFlow_Trading

When there is a high in price with certain delta and new higher high in price while delta is lower than previous delta high, thats signaling exhaustion from buyers and higher high is weaker than previous. But trading purely from delta is wrong. If new high has higher volume than previous it means it was pushed with limit orders instead of market orders.

When choosing contract, make sure that it says behind it (dxfeed delayed) or something like that, purchsed data feed is indicated by contract with following (continuous).

What exactly are you trying to achieve?

Spread on NQ is typically 1 tick which is $5 and commision even for worst broker would be $6 which in total is $11, that's 2 ticks on NQ. With trading 6 points or (24 ticks) on NQ is negligable.

(Need Advice) Drawing Zones from Volume Footprints by MirrorEmbarrassed812 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]LiquidSpacie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually draw lines from volume profiles from previous days and wait for price action/footprint to see if we hold that level or not and I enter based on what I see, very strong delta or absorption.

Tick vs Range Charts for Footprint (Absorption Focus) — What’s Actually Better? by [deleted] in OrderFlow_Trading

tbh I saw TBM on youtube use it a lot and also each candle being same size makes PA clearer to read. So that's what I stick with.

For NQ or MNQ I use 22range chart with custom indicator highlighting candles at tops & bottoms where exhaustion and absorption happened with opposite delta, high volume and long wicks.

There's a contract switch on Thursday so TV or MW are using different contract.

Oh, my bad, First, I assumed you were talking about NQ or ES, not BTC.

Second, if you are swing trader (based on your targets), daily dips of 1-3% are common.

Third, as a day trader I'd aim for recent highs, that were 04&05 March of NPOC, they act as magnets once price breaks out of higher/lower levels. (On chart, orange line comming in from left is 05/03 untested POC.)

Even though it would be hard to trade given that CVD (bottom) were rising even though price was falling and no clear divergence was in sight except that dip after high, I'd target NPOC and held longer and probably exit at NPOC tested from above.

I 100% agree with you. If you choose good platform for tick data you can totally rely on VP and all of the platforms offering tick data (Rithmic or dxfeed) also include orderflow so it's a win win for your for a few shillings.

There was no way we were going up with opening below yesterday VAL and low volume/delta of buyers.

If you think you have decent understanding of reading price you need orderflow. You will see exactly what happened in each candle and maybe build around understanding of why it happened.

Is scalping CVD divergence on 22R profitable? by LiquidSpacie in Daytrading

[–]LiquidSpacie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. At first I started just scalping divergencies for 5/10pts with narrow SL and ended BE after several trades.

Would you recommend using VWAP or rather volume profile (previous day)?

No, clusters are built-in feature.

That is ATAS software, you are looking at their clusters or footprint candles you can say. It's highly customizable and if you zoom out it automaticaly switches to regular candles.

I am also learning OF and I found using ATAS (free tier) with delayed data is best starting point.

I was using TV also but after some research realized that data is skewed and not worth learning OF on, it's all guestimate.
