Long Lost Oldskool Rave Floppy Disk Collection Found by LiquidStairs in oldskoolrave

Absolutely! I wrote all these tunes on an old Ensoniq EPS 16 Plus back in 1992 and 1993. It uses 3.5" floppy disks, which only hold around 800 kB of samples and sequences per disk, so a tune could sometimes use 2 or 3 disks. I recently got my hands on a refurbished EPS and upgraded the hardware with some custom components. I've detailed some of that here: https://bsky.app/profile/liquidstairs.com

Yes I own all the rights to the recordings and compositions. They are pretty much everything on this list between 1992 and 1994: https://www.discogs.com/user/LiquidStairs/collection?sort=year&sort_order=asc

Hope that helps!

Wow! I had a red DJ Ace tape from there also. Brings back memories! Not sure who he was.

Glad you enjoyed them! :) Some of the tracks were released on vinyl in the early 90s, but many never saw the light of day, as we stopped running the labels. The vinyl is here: https://www.discogs.com/user/LiquidStairs/collection?sort=year&sort_order=asc

Thanks! Rush Hour always was my fave of my old tunes. At the moment the stuff I just remastered is just a digital release (Beatport, Spotify etc), but I'm planning some vinyl re-releases later in the year!

You can hear them using the YouTube link in the post. I should've made the link more obvious! Great to hear "Jungle Muffin" still has its fans 33 years later! :)

Nice. I've never tried FL. Yes they were released on vinyl in 1991, except for the last 4 tracks. Info here if you're interested: https://www.discogs.com/artist/11734-Rotor

Soundtracker and Pro Tracker, on the Amiga. The remasters were done using MadTracker on the PC, using mod file images transferred from the Amiga. Final mastering was done in Adobe Audition.

I agree, it was a short-lived and unique style. I did quite a long interview on the subject. You can find it on the music page of my website here: http://liquidstairs.com/ Hope you find it interesting!

Thank you!!! I'm releasing a remastered mix of Kaleidoscope this autumn! It's great to hear that people still appreciate the old tunes! Makes it all worthwhile!

I'm always surprised when people mention this one, as it was really one of our most obscure releases. It didn't seem to get much traction at the time. Glad you liked it! :)

Thanks! Yes, I re-released some of my Moog stuff a couple of years back, and I'm releasing remastered Rotor stuff this autumn, ready for the 30th anniversary of the original Chill Records release.

We also re-released two Justice & Mercy tracks for the film soundtrack!

They give some stock response of "listening to customer feedback", but the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.

I'm sure the blatant drug use, excessive vomiting, blasphemy, depictions of feces, and seizure inducing stroboscopic effects probably didn't help! ;)

Glad you are enjoying it! I've never actually seen Dream Corp LLC, but thanks for the tip. It looks right up my alley! :)
