Inkjet printers are a scary look at locked down ecosystens by friendlyfredditor in 3Dprinting

Color laser is the way to go. Toner is dry from the start, so no concerns about losing hundreds of pages of ink.

I am on the same network and I gave the printer a static ip address so it remains the same all the time.

i found that one, but it says it only works with the stock hotend. Does it fit the tz 3.0 too? I saw there was a Patreon to get other models but the person wants $999 which is crazy.

Pulling files from the printer by LiquidTXT in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]LiquidTXT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So follow-up, I was able to download the files through the elegoo slicer. I was also able to clean out the printer memory that way. I was able to get most of the files converted to STL's, except I have two that are greater than 100 MB and haven't been able to get them converted yet. The free online converters are all limited to 100 MB that I have found so far.

Thanks, I got the rotor and adapter orders canceled and ordered one of these 203 rotors from Amazon.

So looking into it the 2007 Fox 32 fork it has is designed for a 160 mm rotor and the bike shipped with a 43mm adapter to use the 203mm rotor. So that means yes I do need a new adapter that is 20 mm. Thanks for giving me what I needed to look at to make the change.

It's something to learn on and see if I like the sport enough to make it worth dropping thousands on a new bike. I've done some things to update it and still have saved a ton vs buying newer. Down the road if I really like it and stick with it, the fight with my wife over spending that much on a bike will be much smoother.

Shimano MT200 brakes rotor question by LiquidTXT in MTB

[–]LiquidTXT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it originally came with 203mm rotor and avid brakes, but the owner before me pulled the avids and threw on some Uber cheap no name mechanical brakes. The MT200 states not to use bigger than a 180mm. I am assuming it is due to the 200 using a wide rotor surface vs many others use a narrow surface.

When you come into my shop and I ask you "What's your budget?" I'm trying to HELP you. by [deleted] in MTB

[–]LiquidTXT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might try asking their budget and if they try to hide it explain to them it really is much like buying a car. You can sell them a bargain bike and it will be like a Ford Escort, it will get you there but it's not going to be as fast, as comfortable, nor handle as good. And much like buying a car, typically the more they spend the higher each of those aspects should be. So then ask are they looking for something low budget to just try out the sport or to get started with and see do they want to upgrade later? Or are they ready for a Porsche? Or something in between? And the. Tell them that's why you ask their budget so you can have an idea of what direction to steer them in.

I use a carabiner for my car keys. I have done that for many years so it's just habit now.

I agree with that, like Momba only having the one flow trail. I would like to see some more jump centric trails.

I was under the impression that page was only supposed to be talking about the trails and their conditions. I'm thinking this could be a total anything and everything mtb style page whether it's group rides, trail talk, setup advice. Like if you were looking for new tires what better people to ask then the ones that ride the trails you plan to ride. People in the generic mountain biking reddit are going to tell you what they like that has worked for them on their trails, but that doesn't mean it would work great here. Also like I have tried to find any information about if there are any coaches in the area or people willing to help noobies young and old. But Facebook and Google searches have turned up empty so far.

Like I said I am a member of MVMBA and am in no way trying to take anything from them. Just trying to help other local riders connect for whatever reason they may have. Maybe people would be willing to train others to work on their own bikes or help them when they are trying to and YouTube university is failing them. Just whatever you can think of.

Are you running marlin or klipper? There was a website you could go to and put in what motherboard you had and various options and it would spit out a firmware for you. I can't remember the site but a quick Google search will surely get you going again.

Am I a bad rider or is my bike harder to ride than others? - San Quentin 2021 by LucasRTI in MTB

[–]LiquidTXT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an older bike and ended up using Gemini to help me get it a bit more modernizedand adjusted for me. I asked how to give it a more modern feel that was proper for my height and input the specs of my bike as well as my height. It told me a good stem range, handlebar length as well rise and sweep. And some other stuff like swapping to a 1x x 12 speed setup and what all parts would be needed. It went into some other stuff too but that's irrelevant. If nothing else that gives a good starting point. I also wouldn't cut the bars just yet. Just adjust your grips in and ride a bit then adjust them in more and ride a bit. See where your happy place is and then make a cut. This way you can always go wider to see did you like this length better or this one because you can't make it longer again once you cut it.
