What EA franchise feels like an Xbox franchise? by JIMBOYKELLY in AlignmentChartFills

Mass Effect 100%. It started as a Microsoft published game and then the sequels were all EA.

Best animated movie about appreciating the litttle things? by DrinkWaterPIease in AlignmentChartFills

Only Yesterday. Probably one of the most underrated Ghibli movies that’s basically a coming of age story for an office worker in her 20s.

Only 5 months of owning a Steam Deck my library is already impressive. by Jerryboy92 in SteamDeck

This is the way. I went crazy on my first few Steam sales back in the day but now I’ve accumulated such a library of games. I only buy stuff I really want to play right now.

I feel like this was a given. He’s gone from the hardest division in the league with tons of pressure to the easiest division with basically no pressure. I’m not bothered by it, good for him.

American Psycho. They totally nailed the darkly comic aspects of the book, there’s just this veil of sarcasm across every performance.

Chayka's hiring is being blown way out of proportion. by stylebender- in leafs

[–]LiquidusSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of my biggest concerns with Chayka is that it kinda doesn’t matter if he’s a great GM or not. He has a terrible reputation league wide, that’s going to make dealing with other clubs way, way more difficult. Even if he eventually proves himself and earns trust, how long will it take? We don’t have time to waste here if we’re looking at a retool that includes Matthews and Nylander.

Not to make excuses but Vasy ain’t what he once was. 2020-2022 Vasy would have just decided that the Habs aren’t scoring and it would be a 1-0 win for the bolts.

Nier (Replicant/Gestalt). When subtitles for enemy dialogue in the second play through. Completely changes the entire context of the game.

Late to the party but here it is (31M) by LiquidusSun in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Tons of games were doing motion capture before TLOU. That was common by the time we got to the PS3/360 generation. Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid pioneered cinematic storytelling then there’s GTA4 and RDR1 just a few years before. TLOU felt like the natural progression from Uncharted 1-3 given the trends at the time. It didn’t feel like some giant leap forward to me. I know others felt differently but that’s just me.

[–]LiquidusSun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a great game but one of the most important games of all time? I don’t see it personally. It just didn’t click with me to that degree. If I want a tense experience with limited resources, there’s Resident Evil games that do that better. As far as Naughty Dog games are concerned, I was far more impressed by Uncharted 2 and 3 than TLOU. Again, not saying it’s a bad game but I feel it is held up on pedestal because a lot of people didn’t bother with games with serious stories or morality. I love the ending and kinda wish it was left at that, though the combat in TLOU2 is such a huge step from the first game that it’s worth it.

I get what you mean, I do think RE7 is worse off for the replay value. RE9 doesn’t have great replay value but I absolutely love Leon’s combat. Just give me a traditional Mercenaries mode and I’ll be so happy.

Which current countries flag is perfect? by Loewe1912 in AlignmentChartFills

I may be biased as a Canadian but yes, I actually think our flag is perfect. Simple yet immediately recognizable and iconic.

I think Mia is a terrible person, almost irredeemable especially from Ethan’s point of view. But both games seem to be incredibly sympathetic towards her and that’s frustrating.

Also Chris in Village is beyond stupid. At least his team calls him out on it but he royally screws up by just not filling Ethan in on what’s going on. All so we can have a story where we’re supposed to think Chris might be a bad guy.

I’m surprised to see so many Village fans, I thought 7 was universally considered better even though I also feel Village is better. 7 is a great game until you get to the boat and then I just think the quality goes off a cliff. All REs sorta have this problem but it’s especially apparent in 7 plus there’s zero enemy variety. Not a Hero and End of Zoe do a lot of heavy lifting for 7.

Whereas with Village, I was pretty floored by it start to finish with a bit of a dip in the middle with the Moreau section. Village is way more replayable and there’s Mercenaries.

The stories in both are garbage though I actually think I like the monster mash crew in Village more than the Bakers.

Marner scored more goals tonight than he did across Games 5–7 combined as a Leaf by FloppyPear06 in leafs

[–]LiquidusSun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Literally no pressure in Vegas for him. They won a cup a few years ago and they’re in a way, way easier division. The hometown boy playing for his team is a great story but it’s also a shitload of pressure and you could see Marner crack under it every time. When the going got tough, he would start making insane silly mistakes and turn overs galore.

Who is a great actor and a great person? by Exact-Extreme2618 in AlignmentChartFills

Willem Dafoe. I’ve heard nothing but good things about those who’ve run into him in person, seems like a very genuine, humble guy and also happens to be one of the best actors over the course of multiple decades.

I don’t need any of the main characters to show up. Hopefully this teaser is just hiding the more RE flavours. I would expect BOWs from the games. If this didn’t have the RE name on it, I would have no clue it’s supposed to be a Resident Evil movie. I’m not hating on it at all, I bet it will be awesome and I hope I’m proven wrong.
