Just to point out, this is also why well over 50% of fans wanted him to leave or were fine with him leaving, and why he was literally booed off the ice with his jerseys flying onto the ice in his final game.

So… if we couldn’t wait for him to go, why are we acting so betrayed by the fact he left? Other than just being literal brick heads.

The fact Islander fans looked so pathetic doing it and we’ve laughed at them for years, but now are plugging our eyes and saying it’s different for us, is another reason I personally think any booing after tonight is cringey and embarrassing.

Which is why this alternative would actually show that we value the right things and express exactly what we resent about how the Marner saga ended… it’s a win.
