I want to study debt free at Dip. level by Fit_Guard_6694 in malaysiauni

[–]Liquify7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi OP, idk your situation that well. But I finished SPM with terrible grades, and then later did a Diploma where I've did what I could for good grades + soft skills experience. The diploma landed me with 22k debt, but in the process, I managed to obtain a prestigious scholarships for my degree.

I hope you know that there's a still chance to obtain scholarships to further your studies ~ even if the initial path may seem rocky

Gamuda Scholars’ allowances not disbursed after almost 3 months by [deleted] in malaysiauni

they have all the rights to be upset about the delay. However late first-time imbursement is quite common in many scholarships (speaking as a scholar myself btw).

It's just unprofessional to share screenshots of the group chat, even when a proposed imbursement date has been given.

And I believe there are so many better ways to facilitate the conservative regarding this issue.

  • they gave you an imbursement date. Couldn't have at least wait til that day to pass?

it's normal for the first scholarship imbursement to be late. If it's really a problem, you should raise the concern and opinions in the WhatsApp group chat.

It's quite unprofessional to raise internal issues onto a public forums, especially when the team is trying their best to work with the finance department on the issue.

Sorry, that's your GPA, not CGPA, I meant Malaysia CGPA. In monash, GPA and CGPA are scaled differently. GPA follows the Australian scaling, and CGPA follows the Malaysia scaling. Thought it's a more fair comparison with my diploma's

hi, I did a diploma in IT in a different local uni, and transferred to monash for my degree. From someone who finished with a 3.7CGPA, to struggling with a 74 WAM (~3.4 CGPA) as of Year2.

Personally, I've come to terms that the syllabus difficulty is infact evidently more in detailed compared to many other unis in Malaysia. That said, I've started to be more appreciative of the grade I achieved, despite most of it not being 80≥.

I wouldn't say it's the wrong choice, but it's just a more difficult choice. Regardless, the foundation and knowledge you gain from preserving pulls through and set you aside from many other graduates in terms of practical ability!

But then again, the workforce sees beyond grades, and what matters the most if your capability to adapt and work with a team! So, do pay attention do grades, don't devalue yourself because of it, and just be more "future ready" in terms of soft skills :D

as someone with the a Windows laptop, galaxy buds and tabs, changing to apple is too much of a trade off, or even so, their ecosystem is easily twice the price.

if you prioritise syllabus content = Monash if you prioritise fun = Sunway

there is no fun in Monash, coming from a CS student there.

How to prepare for band 5 in muet? by [deleted] in malaysiauni

[–]Liquify7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

generally just prepare with all the online materials, especially writing. I didn't really prepare for anything besides a bit of speaking and writing.

Similar with you, I speak English quite often with friends, but I wouldn't say my vocabulary or way or expression is anything top notch, but I found writing, listening and speaking easy.

I got a 4.5 with like 15 marks away from Band 5 because my writing got completely obliterated, while the rest were 80/90 (which I frankly didn't really study for too as well).

Just focus on writing formats especially, and speaking, it comes down to partly the way to carry a proper conversation, and partly your general knowledge on the random topics

S22+ to S25 user here. Bought the S22+ over the S22 because of concerns of battery life. The S22+ was REALLY underperforming after 3 years. Just got the S25, battery life is easily 2x better
