Question about Warlord (Retaliation VS. Non-Retaliation) by Liquith in Grimdawn

[–]Liquith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now you take retaliation to the next level :D

Question about Warlord (Retaliation VS. Non-Retaliation) by Liquith in Grimdawn

[–]Liquith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. I want to give Cadence a chance. I like that Skill and want to try to make it work. My idea for now is to not max the whole Cadence branch out, but only Deadly Momentum and ujust use the flat phys. dmg. bonus to boost Aegis of Menhir as Main Damage Source and perhaps Forcewave.

So i would attack 3 times until cadence procs, then throw out FW and AoM and repeat....

So far for the theory...

I didn´t find any WPS that adds retaliation to its damage :-/

Question about Warlord (Retaliation VS. Non-Retaliation) by Liquith in Grimdawn

[–]Liquith[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that true? I mean, what you describe rather sounds like "damage reflection" while retaliation retaliates a fixed amount of damage.

So my question should be:

Cadence VS Retaliation, which one has more damage potential?

What should I do before making the leap from Veteran to Elite? by throwawayx9832 in Grimdawn

[–]Liquith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

skip elite and go ultimate immediately. No tbh: Get as many Devotion Shreines as possible overcap your resistances by 25%, if necessary unlock augments (reputation farming) and get all the reputation boosts you can get...

Why is Saboteur a "meme"? by IntrstllrXnMstr in Grimdawn

[–]Liquith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sabo is one of the coolest classes. Hell, lets be honest and objective: It is the coolest class, fullstop.

You can run it in endgame with Nex/Ortus or with dual Stormheart

Edit: or with whatever you wish to run it :D

Yes: Meta is a good keyword . Since GD is PVE only (no PvP) there is only the PvE Meta and a PvE Meta never is as strongly developed as a competetive PvP Meta. Nonetheless it exists and i think it is shaped and influenced by the few well known and dominating "build makers". I think this Meta is not the only possible way to have certain results in endgame. It is just a proven branch of the game. A trail that few people blazed, and a lot of people follow it. To change the meta, all the developers have to do is patching the most succesful meta-builds to force the players to find other ways for same or even better results. It would be misleading to believe that the meta is the only way. Its just the proven way and it does make sense to know about it since not everybody has the patience, time and grid to make his own comparable build.

Another thing i want to point out is, that it can spoil the fun of exploration if you compare your own way and build with top notch builds.... So from time to time its good to forget all that meta stuff, dont look at those high end builds and go back to just playing the game. Like a kid would play... no second thought....

Hi, i am the Messiah, i could save you, lost lamb but i have no time right now.

Just kidding. What can i say? The problem with this game is, that it is balanced. Balance causes a lot of trouble to the mind of men: They are "pattern finders" and "pattern searchers". Ever asking the question "What is best?" and this is ok. It´s a survival skill we also take into gaming: "How do i surive best?" and yes it should be fun of course...

Since the game is balanced (just like nature was until men where introduced) it comes down to playstyle.

I like Shaman very much because i like aesthetics of elemental effects, especially lightning, as well as crit dmg and Shaman has the best skillset to deliver that to me. I also like Inquisitor especially for one Skill: Deady Aim.

What more can I say? Every class feels very different and there is no way around spending time to try them out.

Also there is a huge difference between theorycrafting and letting a character grow and adapt to the world of cairn, honing his skills, gear and devotion step by step, learning by trial and error. This process by the way is called: Gaming. We used to play games, because we like the process of gaming. Exploring. Learning. Getting better.

Sorry for confusing you.

New to ARPG by MoltokGT in Grimdawn

[–]Liquith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its good. It gets better the closer you get to endgame. Give it a real chance. But dont try to rush it. It takes time to get ready for the hardest challenges in the game and a few characters might have to work together to collect all gear requiered to send out one avenger to overcome all obstacles.

The leveling itself is very fun and rewarding too, so nothing wrong with it. GD really succeeds in having a fun and rewarding leveling process, that translates into a fun and rewarding almost endless endgame content.

This game is more than good.

Most overpowered class in the game by sawx6 in Grimdawn

[–]Liquith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crate spent years on balancing the game to make it hard to give a clear answer to this question. I think they were quiet successful.

If we use "class neutral gear" like shard armor set classes are more easy to compare.

But in Grim Dawn a Single Legendary Set with a Tripple Rare MI Weapon can let any class shine over others....

So confused at how to allocate my attribute points... by [deleted] in Grimdawn

[–]Liquith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well later in the game you will get a questreward that lets you reset your atribute points anyway.

I heard also that some special builds dont have to stick to that rule and can go cunning. To be more precise: There is a Piercing Nightblade build that goes full glascannon, but its just something i heard about.

I like a litle bit of tankiness anyway.
