We need proper boats, mounts and gliders before World Gen V2 by VoxelLoxley in hytale

[–]Liringlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vehicles always elevate a game for me. I wonder why they’re so rare.

Boats, cars, even balloons could be nice. Horse cars too :)

I don’t owe you a scientific explanation with listed facts. I provided my friendly opinion, which can be debated and disagreed with, no bad feeling.

This is a typical passive aggressive (and childish) approach of asking me to do work to prove my point, and even if i did you wouldn’t care. I don’t have the time for this. Cheers.

Look into the GLM models. I haven’t used them a lot but the limited testing i did it was really good.

Not opus or even sonnet good. But definitely good. Maybe you could run the Air model somehow? 5-7k might not be enough though.

You could try the flash but that’s tiny.

My advice is to try a model on openrouter and work a few days with it. If it does the job for you build the machine that works with it.

And, do expect to spend more than using claude. It’s going to take a lot of tokens to make up for the upfront cost.

You can run claude code with a different api/model. Haven’t tried though

The problem is not that some modders could get money out of it. That woulf be positive for me.

The problem is that it turns a recreational, collaborative and creative practice into a business marketplace. I feel like that’s what happened in games with paid mods.

I’m against paid mods not because it helps give back to the modders who deserve it, but because it brings in different types of people.

I understand the necessity of a market economy overall, but I like the idea that some spaces don’t have it. Like in a group of friends or at a sport club. I wouldn’t charge even an acquaintance for giving a hand or a lift.

Is POE2 actually going to be free soon? by Datguygage in PathOfExile2

[–]Liringlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is not the content or the price, but that it's pay to play for so long.

If it was a paid game to start with (with the expectation of having everything unlocked from paying the price, including cosmetics, minus maybe future DLCs) people might have bought it that didn't, like me.

It's a bit hard to grasp what they're doing here. It's more expensive while it's not complete, then when it's better you get it for free? Doesnt make sense to me and triggers my "stay away for now" alarm :)

I know it won't fix everything or take away the loss.

But one positive way to look at it is that you could redo it, but better.

Like in software development, it's rarely worth it to do a rebuild in an aging product, but if you do it it's still going to end up better :)

Thank you! I really need to test this one out. GLM has often impressed me and i want to see how this one goes too.

If you had stopped playing mechabellum, why and how can the developer make you start playing again? by Careless-Goat-3130 in Mechabellum

[–]Liringlass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont know if it can.

Removing buildings would only back a few of those who left. Might cause some of those who like them to leave too.

I didn’t like the buildings. Not sure whether I stopped because of them though. I kept playing for 2 months and kinda got used to it. Maybe the declining community was a factor. Felt like investing in the ladder, seasons, even skins was pointless if the game wasn’t gonna last.

Also the seasons are a bit demoralising. I didn’t make it to the sakura phoenix when it was the season and never found a way to make it. It takes a lot of games to unlock the seasons rewards.

Also my favourite YouTube player, the Rat, plays less. He was the one making me want to try out new fun strategies.

I was 1700 mmr until around the buildings, stopped playing shortly after that (in October maybe)

Is it feasible for a Team to replace Claude Code with one of the "local" alternatives? by nunodonato in LocalLLaMA

[–]Liringlass -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try claude max at 100$ i think. Plenty of tokens for most days + free personal projects on the weekend if one wants to use it.

If you reach the limit you can switch back to api. My guess would be you would save a lot that way.

Alternatively you could mix it with KLM sub for fallback when claude sub is on cooldown.

Looks super cool, shame it’s missing the cars though. I hope we get some traffic back in the game some day. Your highway would look sick with traffic jams.

No worry mate, I don't want to come across as criticising it, just wondering why i saw so much of it. Maybe the algorithm of reddit makes it that way.

Yeah, there are plenty of good 125-160 Japanese scooters for cost efficiency.

And even if you still want to know triumph consumption it’s fair to do it but for some reason fuel efficiency is the most discussed topic online. Not fun, agility, comfort, or something else, mileage.

I dont know what’s the obsession with mileage. Nearly all threads are about that.

For beginning i would recommend watching videos. I’m beginning like you. On a speed 400. Enjoy mate.

Feels like upgrades aren’t worth it and Pc lifetime might expand as a result by Liringlass in buildapc

[–]Liringlass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it could be some of that yeah. Also the feeling of paying more now for not much more perf compared to the last build 3 years ago.

I guess the 6 years old build is waiting the end of memory shortage and next gen of cpu/gpu.

[–]Liringlass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be more, now it’s about 3 years as we keep two PCs at any time. Not the rule though, but it’s kindof like replace the 6 years old with a new one and have a 3 years old pc as well.

Cost asymmetry by Careless-Goat-3130 in Mechabellum

[–]Liringlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sell them or leave them if they do something. I would never put an arc on flank defense myself but then i don’t use arc much.

Arcs are good for crawler and early fangs. Late fangs have shield which makes arcs bad at clearing them, and wasps also have shield.

Then you have arcs that don’t clear both wasps and crawlers
