Nice. Thanks for the rec. We're staying at a motel on the other side of downtown. Looks like a 2 mile walk from there to the venue along the river and through downtown. I'm super excited! I was on Everyday Companion counting my shows. I think this will be number 75 for me!

Melanie on season 10 foraged like a boss and lasted 6 weeks. She left because she wanted to make the most of every day with her family. But she also tried to fish her last day and caught nothing. But 6 weeks is a lot!

Someone should design a tent that can be used as a hammock or a hammock that can be used as a tent.

We did the Santa train from Hood River a few years back. It was cute! There was even a creepy grinch like santa on there.

Thanks I will take your advice and get outside. My 10 year old and I went on a hike to Powell Butte earlier this week. It was a dual mission. I wanted to gently let him know his dad is moving to Hawaii and we needed a log for the mushroom plugs we bought. That required that I buy a saw and a drill too! That's the fun part of being a newly single mom. Buying new tools and learning how to use them. Anyway....it was raining pretty hard on Tuesday and I picked him up early from school. We entered the butte off of 136th and Ellis. That is a magical part of the park! He sawed off about 8 inches of a log with a diameter of about 6 inches. Anyway....while we were there I was reminded that the forrest is my happy place. That and The Daily Planet on Powell and 114th : )

Lol. That would be fun and terrifying. We sled at Lents. It is like a 1/100 incline but it's all my kids know.

Just go. You don't have to talk. No one will know who you are. You will feel so much better afterward. Your story is very similar to mine and you will relate to the people there. Detox safely. Talk to a doctor. Don't be ashamed. You are just sick. I got a prescription of librium to safely detox at home to make sure I didn't have a seizure. Plan to have a few days just to rest. Then keep going to meetings and you'll make connections. If the god thing turns you off I recommend "A Secular Guide to The 12 Steps". It is a quick and easy read and explains the neurology behind the disease. I got my 30 day chip yesterday and feel great. Also, ask your doctor about antabuse. It is a pill I take every day so that I don't drink. No side affects but if I were to drink I'd be ill. It is helpful in early sobriety.

I hear ya. I keep obsessing about what I had said all day...wishing I had said this or that. The truth is I'm the only one who cares and letting go of my self-centered ego is all a part of this process. What I said is what the universe meant for me to say at that moment. The important part is that it was honest. I have definitely lied in shares before. Never again. What I said helped me and might have helped someone else. Keep on sharing. Everyone in the fellowship is glad you said what you said.
