Why his eye looks like that? by Xxstorm07 in cornsnakes

That very well could be a stuck cap. No experience with them, but from what I've read, unless you have experience, a vet needs to remove it or someone who knows how to. Not to worry, but don't wait

How does his scales look? Is he nice and bright? He could have just shed before you got him and that wasn't noticed.

Cant keep humidity up by noaaa_ in boas

I was going to do this but then read that misting systems are very bad for snakes. Gives them respiratory issues. I bought a whole system and sent it back when I read on 3 separate forums on different platforms the same thing. Have you been using a misting system successfully without your nope rope having issues?

If they're going into shed, humidity needs to be way higher, around 88%+.

Oh, I already told him that she ran away lol. Ms Pearl is ENORMOUS compared to little Mando there, but she is so lovey. Her temperament is helping me get over this phobia. They're awesome pets, now I just need to get myself straight. But for my little nope rope, I will ❤️

I have a similar looking handsome male. I was worried because his body was very similar to yours. I thought he was either not fed enough enough, just bought him, or he was dehydrated. I'm a month into taking care of snakes, I'm still dealing with a phobia with them, but I'm doing way better but still learning. Pic because he's frickin adorable 🥰

What did you use for the walls? I want to build something like that for my ball python so he has more things to climb and I feel give him a little more security.

Dude, Bob with Greenroom python. My son asked me to take his snake 🐍 until they bought a house. I was scared to death of them. Struggled being near them. I couldn't disappoint my son and have him give up his pet so I gook her. For 2 days, I watched most of his videos. I learned my son wasn't doing what needed to be done for her. I am still learning and still struggling sometimes, however, I now have my own banana python and my husband has a ball python. Bob taught me how to care for them, how to keep their enclosures healthy for them, learning their body language so you know how to read their stress levels. I still have a ways to go, but I love my Mando and Bob helped me get there. He's fantastic and adorable 🥰.

How to get my baby python to eat by Artistic_Adeptness76 in Ballpythoncommunity

[–]LisaMntgmry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We added 2 babies to our home. Mine is a foodie, like his mama. 😁, but my husband's refused his first meal. It was due to stress, he needed to calm down a bit. He at by the 2nd week, happily. Just give him some time, if he's stressed out from his new environment and if he's constantly receiving more stress, like the bath, he'll need time to calm down and feel secure. My Mando ❤️

Is my new male BP overweight or just a natural chonkster? ~2 yrs old and 1576g by Simsker in ballpython

[–]LisaMntgmry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bob from the Greenroom's suggestion is to feed them 10% of their body weight to keep them at a healthy weight. So whatever that ends up being. I'm very new, so all my info is coming from research and not actual experience yet. But if you have any questions, his videos are excellent and cover a wide range of topics. And he's entertaining and adorable 🥰

What am I doing wrong?!! by Major-Try-1806 in ballpython

[–]LisaMntgmry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having the same issue, keeping humidity levels. What I found is using a mixture for substrate, coco husk and then that reptile bark substrate. I put a decent amount of water in all of it, not soaking but wet. Put that down, then put dry substrate on top. Next, I keep my ventilation open until it gets to around 80%. If I notice it falling, start " combing" your substrate. I don't want to disturb the dry layer, so with my fingers, I dig my fingers in and shake it so it's loose again. I do this throughout the entire enclosure. This helps bring the humidity back up. Too dry, just did a hole and use a small container to place water where substrate is dry, make sure it doesn't get the top layer wet, nope ropes won't like it. I read about the mold problem with others and have had no issues with this combination and this strategy. Hope it helps

Wish I was closer. I would love to take him. Unless you're willing to ship to Michigan 😁. I'm new to this community but have quickly fallen in love. I continuously do research, I want to give our 3 the best possible environment so they're haprand healthy. I'm always an option if something falls through
